February 28, 200422 yr I just love the new Eagelsoft Citation X. It flies beautifully, and looks so real. Love the Deluxe model with the pilot and passenger animations.But....there' a learning curve. So prepare yourself for it. I've read some of the documentation and figured out speed settings, vs settings, altitude, etc on the AP, but for the life of me, I still haven't figured out how to adjust heading and hit a glideslope. I'm sure I will figure it out, but it's NOT the same as the planes most of us are used to. The Eaglesoft forum isn't accepting posts, so I thought I'd post here. If you have a secret to ILS technique in this bird, I'd like to hear from you. Stan
February 28, 200422 yr I took her for a spin last night. I had a blast rocketing to Denver from Houston. Got there in an hour and a half! The heading knob is on the throttle page. Just look at the bottom. You can adjust the course and heading from there. The learning curve isn't too bad compared to some other aircraft out there. Once you have the course and freq dialed in you should be able to hit the appr button on the auto pilot and fly her right in. Hope this helps,Cheers,Scott

Notice the small yellow X on the left bottom screw on the instrument directly above the EICAS? That indicates a HOT SPOT where you can click to pop-up a copy of the CRS/ALT SET/HDG controls... :)BTW, you can also enter SPEED, and ALT directly from the FMC as well. Fr. February 28, 200422 yr Course, Heading and Altitude knobs can be accessed by hitting the small left screw just above the EICAS. Saves having the whole throttle quadrant showing. It's clearly documented in the manual. Also, I thought, capturing and riding the ILS was a doddle; much better than the great BJ400A. Of coarse, if your navigating with the FMC then you need to switch to VOR navigation.I didn't find the learning curve all that great (try flying and navigating the Anotonov AN-24 RV). The only issue I have apart from those documented on ESDG website is the 'pressurisation' system. Even after dialing in the altitude I still couldn't get the cabin alt dial to show the correct reading. AND what's that little indicator to the right of the magnetic compass for (shows up arrow/down arrow and circle) not documented. All in all a fantastic effort by Eaglesoft.Alan
February 28, 200422 yr Thanks,That "hotspot" really helped. Also, I was clicking on the knob itself (left side and right side). You have to click "off" the knob once you push it in. My mistake. But the small ALT and HEADING hotspot is great.I hit the ILS (runway1) flying from KABE to Ronald Reagan Airport. Since there is no GPS/NAV switch, I just used my keyboard command to switch from FMC to VOR. That's right, isn't it? Man...what a great plane! Stan

Man...what a great plane!> StanThere IS a GPS/NAV switch; it's called NAV/FMC instead! :)Please, READ THE MANUAL folks, it's all in there... trust me, I did the editing! :) Fr.
