AFCAD for KSFO

Featured Replies

Does anyone have an accurate up to date afcad for Flightbeam's SFO for FS9? I have no problem editing it myself but for some reason when I do change gate assignments the default scenery ends up appearing in the scenery near the International terminal and you can see some default jet bridges also poking out.

You need to edit it with ADE, not with AFCAD - the original contains excludes that AFCAD can't deal with.DJ
Would be great to have a glideslope on 28R as well.
Search the Flightbeam forum, there's been an edit since NOV last year. (Hmmm scratch that, the file "was" on Megaupload. and we all know about that :( )

I have ADE but I dont know how to save my changes so it stays as a BGL File

I don't know why Mir never has released an update for that - you can do it in a few minutes with ADE. It's very simple.DJ

You need to compile the changes rather than save them - that will generate a new BGL. Use a new name so that you don't overwrite the original. Then you can save the original and rename yours...DJ

I recommend when using ADE you first save your changes as and ADE project in a folder of your choice. If you need to make any further changes you just open that ADE project and modify as needed. When you are satisfied you then select the compile option from the project file menu option to create your .bgl. The .bgl will contain in its name your initials if you set up ade preferences that way. There is a caution to using ADE in certain circumstances. I have opened AFX_ type files and I have not seen comm frequencies in them. AF2_ files have them. If your ListComm frequencies is blank then you can bring them in from a stock airport and in the list delete frequencies from other airports in the default group that they are taken from. This is because ADE has the standard statement to delete previous frequencies in its normal code. If you purchase the Pro Key you can edit the ADE precompile code to change that statement from TRUE to FALSE being careful to do that exactly as stated. I thought I'd add this caution since I do not know what type of file is in the original scenery. The other option is to know what the comm frequencies are in the scenery as listed in AFCAD and add them back in using the LISTComms.

Problem solved. Google is your friend. Turns out I needed: MSXML 4.0 Service Pack 3 compiles fine now. thank you

In the ADE9 folder there should be an FS9 folder. Make sure that bglcomp.xsd and bglcomp.exe are in that folder. However there were two releases of these and you must be using the later versions from the updated Microsoft FS9 SDK. 0.0.0.4 on the .exe and Sunday, September 05, 2004, 7:19:58 AM is the modified date on the schema .xsd file.I am using ADE 150 updated to version 01.50.4402This MS support page has the list of FS9 SDK component links. The actual link I just tested that you need is:BGL Comp:http://download.microsoft.com/download/b/9/3/b930da2a-b3bf-40dc-b830-b1da916eb9e2/fs2004_sdk_bglcomp2_setup.exe

Are there any news on a proper AFCAD? Preferably with support for the static planes disabled, as there are a lot of empty gates right now...
