Marriage is worse: It starts with a dinner date, then a ring, soon a mortgage, then loans to fund college education for three, a divorce settlement and legal fees if your marriage "stalls", and soon you think "How the heck did I get here?" And it all started with a dinner date. So you better enjoyed the ride! Same with Level D. :(

Well a level D simulator its what defines a sim for me . the last time i went in with a friend we had the bill split and it was 2700$ for each of us on 757-200 simulator we did CYMX to MUHG about 4 hours plus . so there it is my definition of a sim .....

Lucky you! Aynway, that is, unfortunately, the harsh reality of a full-motion level-D sim for now. But then, you get a 1:1 replica of the real thing and movements to compensate for the lack of GFX, something you don't get when firing up XP on your PC.

It was the highlight of my life. I almost dumped the instructor out the back of the pit when I did a high angle takeoff. Thankfully there was a good handlebar attached to the back of the seat! It was a 2 story drop... True story!

I totally agree with Noah's post, but replace FSX with FS 9 and that's what works for me.I know it's archaic, but hey... it's what you make of it that counts, right? :smile:EDIT: And replace PMDG with a good 206, or my modified C172... blum.gif

You guys are lucky - the only opportunity I've ever had to be in a full motion sim was when I was maybe 12 years old and my mom bought me 30 mins in a DC-10 sim at the UAL training facility for some career festival of something. It was awesome but it was before I knew much of anything about flying and aviation. I still remember it very well though, especially the, "feeling," when it was all over as if I really had been in a plane. In all honesty though, as cool as a full motion sim would be to own - I would eventually get bored with the same airplane and the same airports all the time. Plus I'm pretty sure it isn't compatible with VATSIM. My own personal style is pretty random. Sometimes I do a 200 mile flight in a 747 or maybe a 1200 mile flight in the J41. I enjoy the Duke almost as much as I enjoy the NGX and it all depends on what kind of mood I'm in.I suppose the only option for me is to buy an entire training facility with all the sims. I'll be right back I need to go ask the wife...

Your mom is cool! My rents never seemed to notice as a kid I used to play with Airfix and Monogram plastic airplanes all the time, so I got pointed in a different direction professionally. Would have loved to fly for a living. Still hope someday... I will be able to simfly for a living! :(

I agree, variety is the name of the game. I love flying the PMDG 744 because it's big and automated, then I like small piston twins and turboprops, and also vintage A2A B-377, B-17 and P-47D. I need to fly them all on a rotating basis.I also like large procedural airports, samll islands in the pacific and crazy mountain airstrips.Cheers,- jahman.
