February 9, 201214 yr Guys,I´m just upon chnaging my 4 GB RAM for 8 GB, I thought I stay with the same product line cause they worked soild as expected. But I´ve noticed that Mushkin doesn´t sell any Blackline 8 GB packages or induvidual 4 GB modules with FrostByte cooling which are 1600 MHz and a latency setting of 7-9-7-24. They´ve only 8-8-8-24 or 8-9-8-24. Does this matter or reduce the performance based on my currenty setting? Best regards, Steffen Fight time: NGX 737-700: 37,0h; -800: 47,2h
February 9, 201214 yr With Sandy Bridge, the better timings won't mean a thing for you and FPS. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
February 9, 201214 yr Really in most applications, lower latency is has a very small impact on performance.
February 9, 201214 yr Author OK, guys, I just wanted to be sure. Thanks! Best regards, Steffen Fight time: NGX 737-700: 37,0h; -800: 47,2h

February 10, 201214 yr Author Ok guys, I'll get it then. Best regards, Steffen Fight time: NGX 737-700: 37,0h; -800: 47,2h
February 10, 201214 yr I wouldn't go above CL7 with 1600 or CL9 with 2000/2133.Are the prices that different? I know mine wasn't too expensive. But as Ben said, performance difference is very little, we are talking below 5%.Apart from that, some said there is smoothness difference. Be aware, might also be a placebo effect.

February 10, 201214 yr Author 1600 @ CL7! Should be just fine IMHO.Ok, so would it be bad that they only have CL 8 or 9 for 1600 MHz? Best regards, Steffen Fight time: NGX 737-700: 37,0h; -800: 47,2h
February 12, 201214 yr Ok, so would it be bad that they only have CL 8 or 9 for 1600 MHz?CL8 or 9 @ 1600 will be perfectly fine for FSX. Edited February 12, 201214 yr by benorg
February 12, 201214 yr Ok, so would it be bad that they only have CL 8 or 9 for 1600 MHz?Bad? No.Increased stutters with slower RAM? Yes.I just searched for some old posts with tags CL7 and stutters, and found quite a few topics on this.Some:http://forum.avsim.n...ost__p__1942328http://forum.avsim.n...ost__p__1942488
