Question about the NGX

Featured Replies

Okay, I've been wondering long enough... Why is the cockpit of the NGX contained in a box? Does it have to do with the HUD or something like that?-boeing247

I would imagine it works with a whole bunch of things. There is the HUD, the steam gauges reflecting clouds off their surface, and the front windshield (likely among others). It lets them work realistically.Speaking of that, does anyone know why or what purpose making the front shield an "object" was for? You can see this when you have been in outside view for a while and go back to VC and the textures/objects have to reload, and the front shield blacks out as well but the side windows don't.

I suppose it's intended to create effects, like reflections when you turn the dome lights on or something like that. And I suspect the front shield is a major FPS killer. Would love to disable that.

Why would it be? It's two triangles with a transparent texture...

How exactly does that work? It seems to be pretty effective.
