February 15, 201214 yr After watching alot of rw film on this a/c....Does anyone feel that this plane is to "Rivety"??? it seems that the r/w planes wing just look alot smoother looking out of the pilot seat? I know there are limitations within FSX but perhaps we can tone down the shadows on the rivets? It seems that the a/c might even render better on the spot view also?
February 24, 201214 yr I thought rivets are part of the base BMP. Only way I figure you can tone them down is to remove them by hand. Generally speaking... A plane with missing rivets is usually BAD! :Shocked:Here is the CPCS_4_T.bmp as an example:
February 24, 201214 yr Author I think its more of the shading around the rivets then the rivets themselves....It gives the a/c a " dirty "appearence rather then a newer paint job but r/w jetprops (even the older) just appear cleaner... ?
February 25, 201214 yr I see what ur saying there... I have zero skill when it comes to paint jobs.. But with my little bit of tinkering I know there are usually 2 to 4 layers on the liveries. Base, Alpha, Spectra, and bump mapping. In the above image, part of that shading is from the "alpha" channel... I think anyhow... then on top of those layers is the spectra map... and I believe it has a alpha channel as well. I sure you know about the DXTBmp program.. It'll load these files up and alow you to export it to your favorite graphix editor without the alpha channel, or even edit that as well.anyhow... I'm clueless on that matter... maybe the guys over in the liveries area can help out there.
February 27, 201214 yr Author Thanks for the info.... I am clueless also. Can anyone in here help with this?
