Aero Commander 500 Released

Featured Replies

Milton, Scott, and Andre:Your new AC500 is a wonderful work of art! Because of folks like you, my experience with MS Flight Sim has been more exciting and enjoyable. You all make this desktop hobby a real pleasure. I have also enjoyed the previous versions of the AC for FS2002 and FS2004. With this AC500, I can clearly read the intrument panels! The VC is awesome! I don't normally fly twin props, but when I do it is always your AC aircraft! I think in this version, my control over the craft is more sensitive? It seems that I tend to pitch up and down a little more with this version.Thank you all for your hard work and for making this art work freeware!David

You guys can't get enough praise for this aircraft series. This plane only rivals, in airtime, Barry Blaisdell's twin otters for my bush type flying. I have had your Commamders since their first release and I can tell you with certainty that they will never leave my hanger! I fly them all the time. Thanks for the great planes!!!!Adam

Thank you very much Milton.

I just uploaded the FS2002 VC and NO-VC versions for those of you still running FS8.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! She is really a beauty -- now that I can actually see her ;)Only one thing out of sorts that I've seen. The seat textures for the n22wr are missing -- just pure black. The other two liveries are upholstered just fine. Is there a specific bmp I can steal from one of the others to fix it or will ya have to upload a fix?BTW, did I say she is a beauty??? :)-------------------Racartronit means something, but I just can't remember what

That did it !! Now I don't feel funny sitting in a "Nothingness" seat. I kept looking around for The Borg -- expecting to be assimilated into the airplane's electrons at any moment. :)-------------------Racartronit means something, but I just can't remember what

Hi Milton & CrewThanks so much for an absolutely fantastic aircraft.Absolutely brilliant work.Just one minor glitch, .. is that if I turn off the Panel lights using the switch on the 2D Panel, ... or, on the overhead on the VC Panel ... it doesn't turn off the Panel Lights in the VC.... only the 2D Panel lights switch off.The only way to switch off the VC Panel lights, is to use the 'L' key, .. but, that turns everything off.Even the the Aircraft is completely powered down, the VC Panel remains lit.It also looks like the VC Panel lighting, is primarily linked to 'time of day'.I'm sure there's a quick fix for this.I'm using the FS9 version. Thanks again to you and your gang.Best RegardsTomSouth Africa

Thank you for a brilliant aircraft and also the desktop background. Why pay when you can get freeware of this quality. Thanks again.

Hi Tom,Thanks for the comments. VC panel backlights have two options of control from the VC textures alpha channel; unfortunately, the panel switch is not an option. The NAV switch is the one I chose to use.Milton

Chuck,Just to let you know, we are still trying to sort out why you are having this issue.I see there is one gauge that most people have that I overlooked distributing. Would you check to see if it is in your FS9.Gauges folder. The Gauge is fpda_gear_windAnd, try commenting out this line in the panel.cfgs to see if this eliminates the issue.gauge33=fpda_gear_wind, 1,1,10,9Make it look like this://gauge33=fpda_gear_wind, 1,1,10,9Also, what OS are you running? XP?We still have no other reports of this issue. :-/

Milton,Thank you very much for taking the time to look into this. In my guage folder I have a FPDA_gear_wind guage and I also have a FPDA_gear_wind_0001 guage. I have taken your suggestion and commented out the guage 33=fpda_gear_wind, 1,1,10,9. This has cured my problem with loading. It now loads everytime without a problem. My OS is Windows 2000 Pro.Thank You MiltonChuck:+

That's great. So, the problem is either the gauge or an old (or no) version of the FSSound.dll likely.I can send you both if you like.
