March 7, 200422 yr Because of its popularity, it took me awhile to get the download but I'm sure it is worth the time. Many, many thanks to you and your team for such an outstanding series of aircraft models. I'm off now to go flying! And again, thanks for your dedication to the hobby and skills making these models available.Larry S.
March 7, 200422 yr This is a truely outstanding effort. Beatiful in every regard. Thanks so much for your contributions to this hobby!Bill Gustafson,San Antonio Tx
March 7, 200422 yr Thanks to Milton and the crew. This is truly a great addition to the simulator. It's clear to see how much time, work, and devotion has been given to this project.Kudos to you all :-beerchug
March 8, 200422 yr Thank you sir. I have downloaded and installed this wonderful aircraft, and it is truly amazing that you would put this out as freeware. My hats off to you.
March 8, 200422 yr Wow! Thanks everyone for the kudos. This is greatly appreciated. :-)Scott and Andr
March 8, 200422 yr Really glad y'all are coming out with a FS2002 version for those of us mired in the past. I installed this version and the 2D panel looks great. I have no other comments as the rest of the bird is completely invisible!!!!! No outside or VC graphics --nothing, nil, zero, nada It's there, the engines smoke on start up(a bit odd seeing smoke appear out of nowhere) :) and I can fly it around with everything functioning as usual. Obviously it's a mdl thing but this is the first time I've run across this nature of a problem with FS9 birds in FS8.Usually, the air file will cause problems but the AC500 is perfectly normal. Anyway, I'll not pursue the issue any further with the FS8 option due out soon.Meanwhile, I'm gonna base it outta Area 51 -- most stuff is invisible there anyway ;)-------------------Racartronit means something, but I just can't remember what
March 8, 200422 yr LOL I understand ... The reason the aircraft does not show in FS2002 is that the new compiler is being used with strictly FS2004 features like VC windshield rain effects. The output .mdl is quite different than the old FS8 .mdl's. FS2002 does not recognize these and can't process the model.I have recompiled the model with the FS2002 MakeMdl program and it works great and looks great in FS2002. Textures, panels, views, light maps, flight dynamics, and gauges have been changed so there is a lot to do and test for 2 panels and 3 liveries for each of the 2 versions. We now have most of the changes completed and are testing. With any luck, I should be able to upload by Thursday, the 11th.We haven't forgotten your FS8 guys and gals. :-)BTW, our other project, the Howard 500, is already setup and tested in FS2002. :-)Milton
March 8, 200422 yr 'peciate the quick feedback, Milton. I have all your other birds and really wanted to add this one to the inventory.I suspected it was the new FS9 compiler setup. Guess with the SDK finally out, my days of pilfering FS9 birds for FS8 are drawing to a close as more and more developers take advantage of the newer capabilities. Oh well, my loss.Actually I can begin looking into flying more of the 1,550 plus birds cluttering my FS8 hanger. Also, that's awesome news about the Howard!!-------------------Racartronit means something, but I just can't remember what
March 8, 200422 yr and those sweet homey touches... my new york sectional and... hmmm, that a skyhawk surecheck on the floor? must have seen those vspeeds somewhere...;)it's only getting better the longer i sit that cockpit!
March 8, 200422 yr Wow, excellent job. Your Aeros are easily the equal quality and "feel' to my hundreds in payware A/C. Just did some touch and gos at 39P(Geo6) in a little ActiveSky2004 generated fun and wow what an experience. Actually nailed the landing at the end, not an easy feat in a twin prop at that airport in those conditions! But, the plane is a joy to fly, thanks!Mike Stinchfield
March 9, 200422 yr I had a ball flying this plane today from KRDG to KFTY in Atlanta. Nice plane. Congratulations Milton! Wish you guys would do an old KingAir or a QueenAir circa early 60's.ERic AND
March 9, 200422 yr Thanks Eric :-)My personal favorite would be a B200 (from the FS98 days) but I think that has been(or is being) taken care of. If I do a larger business aircraft, it would likely be the Commander Turbo. However, a very nice 690B model is nearly complete with another design team. Looks beautiful! We have got to get the Howard 500 out, then it's back to the Dash 7 for a makeover. After that, I have no plans.
March 9, 200422 yr I just spent about an hour flying this plane...it has the best virtual cockpit I've seen yet. The Garmin GPS unit in the center console even works. Look out at the port prop with the engine shut down and cycle the pitch lever...the pitch changes! Anyone who has spent time working with GMAX can appreciate the amount of time, effort, and creativity that is evident here. And it's freeware! Thanks Milton. You're a class act.Robert Best Regards,Robert Kerr 3D Modeler & Texture Artist
