February 16, 201214 yr Before upgrading from Windows XP to Windows 7 x64 I was able to allocate Sound to the Default Speakers and Voices to seperate Headphones, enabling me to hear ATC more clearly. Now however I have W7-64 and also installed Radar Contact and despite my `phones being recognised in the Options/sound/voices all sounds continue to come thru the main speakers alone.I would appreciate it anyone has some adviceMany thanksGeorge
February 16, 201214 yr George, I don't use Radar Contact (I use VOXATC) but here's how I do it.1. Set up your flight in FSX.2. Be sure in the sound options of FSX you have designated what your default sound device is (where you want the engine sounds to come from) and designate your voice device (headset)3. Right click on the speaker icon in your taskbar, click on playback devices, highlight headset earphone, the click on set default, click OK.4. Start Radar Contact. That's the system I use and it works very well.

February 16, 201214 yr Better yet, in FSX.Settings>Sounds>Sounds Dropdown [under Windows sound devices]>Select your speaker system. Click OkayClose FSX and plug in your headset.Go to Control Panel>Hardware and Sound>Sound. Right click the headset you just plugged in and then left click "Set as default device"I'm not an RC4 user, but I'm confident this will work.Sorry Mike. This is what you suggested. :( Edited February 16, 201214 yr by ZachLW ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
February 16, 201214 yr Author Thanks Guys - I tried out your ideas but unfortunately I am still only able to get all sound thru the main speakers despite my Headphones being recognised by FSX in the SoundVoice menu.Guess I`ll have to put up with it for nowRegardsGeorge

It's sending sound directly to your selected sound device.Either way, apparently RC4 can be networked through a client PC. In the mean time, I sure hope you've asked in the Radar Contact forum... ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
February 16, 201214 yr I have always plugged a USB headset in when I want to achieve this effect and never had a problem. John Rig: Gigabyte B550 AORUS Master Motherboard, AMD Ryzen 7 3800XT CPU, 32GB DDR4 Ram, Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super Graphics, Samsung Odyssey wide view display (5120 x 1440 pixels) with VSYNC on.
