February 16, 201214 yr Air Australia has gone into receivership now to get my 1800.00AUD BACK!!!!! Bloody hell happening everywhere http://fs2crew.com/banners/Banner_FS2Crew_MJC_Supporter.png Wayne HART
February 16, 201214 yr Air Australia has always been 'Down Under' LOLSorry had to say that.....Sad to hear about this as it has been rough waters for Australian Aviation lately. QANTAS has also let go of LAX routes leaving that business to Air New Zealand as a Monopoly. Just a sign of the times. Edit: Hopefully you get your money back Mate as that sucks when that happens...Cheers Edited February 16, 201214 yr by ytzpilot Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me

Never been on ANZ yet.... It has won awards lately.Air Australia news here:http://video.news.co...rea=videoindex8Daniel Edited February 17, 201214 yr by IAF747
February 17, 201214 yr Yeah paid via Visa so fingers crossed its happening everywhere worse to come I think. Cheers .You should be OK with that. Those who paid cash are probably out of luck, though. What were they thinking? This was not an orderly shutdown at all. There was a report on CNN about a couple that were stranded in Thailand - with their bags already on board the plane. They must have seen this coming, and yet they kept selling tickets and taking people's money. Shame on them.

Never been on ANZ yet.... It has won awards lately. Thanks for that Daniel.....What is most upseting about this for me is the prices from Aucland to KLAX KSFO and CYVR will go up because of this. I fly back to North America frequentely as I am from there and have family in Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto and Vancouver, so this is getting more expensive now.You heard correct, ANZ is a great airline to fly with. A nice fleet of 777's now as they received extras as compensation for a late delivery on their 787's. What can I say, Kiwi's are just nice people and they run a great airline.Cheers Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me
February 17, 201214 yr VH-SSA was stuck at PHNL ramp. Pax scrambling to get home but QANTAS and Hawaiian offered up some good fares to get stranded folks back to YBBN.scott s..
February 17, 201214 yr Author It's just a shame for the people that have lost money, the airline would have known a long time ago that they were going under, trouble is no one watches them they should be more regulated. I only bought my flights a month ago they would have definitely known then, at least the other airlines are offering cheaper fares. http://fs2crew.com/banners/Banner_FS2Crew_MJC_Supporter.png Wayne HART

I only bought my flights a month ago they would have definitely known then, at least the other airlines are offering cheaper fares. That is always the case. Even when they know they are about to go into receivership they will take bookings right up to the final moment, knowing they will not be able to deliver the service. The Maoris, like the Churchy Samoans, are of good cheer and very pleasant people. But the 777s would be a great reason for me to hop on an ANZ flight to California. I have never been on a T7 with 3-4-3 seating yet. It has always been the Cathay and Singapore 3-3-3 seating. Malaysian too.And then ANZ have the new lie down seats in economy too, where you buy 3 seats for two people?I understand how tough that is having family overseas with the costs going up. Air Austral has terminated their YSSY 777-300 services because of economic reasons too. I think right now everyone needs to consolidate and adjust, like Alan Joyce is trying to do. Unions that do not wish to participate simply get their members left with no job.Qantas flies the A330-200 from Auckland to KLAX, right? With record fuel costs and the continued push of environmental groups to prevent oil companies from drilling and exploring for oil, energy is going to be of primary concern for decades to come. the US has just approved the first nuclear powered plant in over 3 decades. If we can realize that the environmental groups are causing the costs of energy to rise terrifically then we can deal with the situation and help energy corporations to get their business, make money but also make energy cheaper. With cheaper energy there will be cheaper flights. Europe has just brought in their carbon tax for all flights into and inside Europe. That is also inflationary as well as causing us to pay more. And Iran is just around the corner with something bound to happen in the Gulf. Syria is still going through the torment of change whether it be good or bad. If it comes to Iran I don't know what we will see. But Israel is poised to strike soon, they will have to. And the US is prepared for it, with forces built up. The latest Embassy attacks by Iranian agents (Revolutionary Guards) is another sign too that Iran WILL do it's best to strike back if attacked.Daniel
