Engine Noise when in Cold & Dark State

Featured Replies

Hello,Once the aircraft has been initialized at the gate, I select the "Cold and Dark" state and wait for the aircraft to shutdown/reinitialize. At this point the aircraft is completely cold and dark with no engines sounds (the way it should be). If I select "spot view" to pan around the outside of the aircraft and go back to the "virtual cockpit" the engines sounds can now be heard even though the engines are indicating that they are off. For some reason going from the outside of the aircraft back to the inside is triggering the cockpit engine noise to become active. Can anyone help?James Castonguay

Try hitting the "Q" key twice. It should reset the sound. It may be the FSX sound issue that happens to everyone.- John

Yes, happens to everyone afaik. Even the manual says something about it somewhere, so we will have to live with it. Hitting Q (the default FSX-key for toggeling the sound) is the only things that helps.

hi i had a similiar problem in that my engines sounds would disappear and come on again than some one on the radar contact forum gave me a solution to my problem and so far it has cured the engine sounds. The solution was to go to your control panel select the sound option, than select the communication tab than there be 4 boxes to choose from, tick the box that says do nothing than exit.

Hi Pete, where is the control panel located that you referred to? I could not find the sounds options you referred to within FSX sound set-up of the sound option with the FMC of the NGX.Thanks,James

Just a FYI,I have had a problem with the engine sounds disappearing. All the other sounds remain on, just the engine sounds go away. They come back eventually but I don't know why. I tried hitting the Q key a couple times and changing the sound settings in FSX with no joy. And I tried the "do nothing" setting in the communication tab, but that didn't work either (thanks anyway Pete). So, I just did a full uninstall and reinstall of the NGX and that fixed the problem....for now.
