Finding a good bargain.

Hello there, first off, don't bite my head off if I've posted this topic in the wrong forum, I'm quite literally brand new to this flight simulator forum and I am currently bewildered. I am a 13 year old child from the UK, and I'm after a good bargain that will run FSX with ease, you know so I can have REX, GEX, processing power hungry addons. Currently, my budget is very low, but I'm saving up and I might be able to manage £200-£300. Let me tell you my current pc specs (I assure they're bad, but they just about do the job of running FSX with a few addons and medium settings): Advent Modena M101Intel Celeron Dual-Core CPU T3500 @ 2.10GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.1GHz2048MB RAMDirectX11 Ok, I didn't have much to get this, and theoretically it's not mine anyway. FSX does run, with dense Autogen and scenery settings, lowish water specs; so I usually get 8-16fps. As I said, a desktop with some good looking specs cheap please. By the way, I'm not up for building a computer.Yours in advance, Josh.

Not possible, not with the money you're talking about.... Maybe for £500...I'd recommend using FS2004 or possibly XP9

I'd say nearer to £600 for a desk top to run FSX specifically. That would be a bare minimum with one HDD, the 560Ti, a 2500k, and a cheap PSU and Case.Josh, please keep saving. I know I did when I was your age. I bought a very respectable FS2004 machine (the hot new sim then) on allowance and grandpa's chore money.

Hi Josh,As the others have said, you are halfway there already. Keep saving and you will be glad you did.Kind regards,

13 year old child
You need to change your strategy. Next time say 16 year old MAN... with confidence! :Big Grin:As Stephen said, don't spend a penny until you have enough to buy the right machine. £200-£300 will leave you feeling like you wasted money on a minor improvement whereas a well planned £600 will get you very decent performance. Find some work (get creative), save save save, and you'll not only get your machine, but you will get your parents pride and approval as well for your determination....if they're good parents

Haha, thanks. Yeah, I had an hunch that it might not be enough. I've recently found out that a mate of my Dad's is quite happily able to build me a nice setup, what do you think the minimum spec would be to run FSX 25fps?

This is the cheapest rig I could come up with at www.scan.co.ukbudget23452.png
