Hawaii scenery addons

Featured Replies

Megascenery Oahu with Manny Mahadevan's Oahu add-ons plus a revamped Waikiki beach along with Areosofts Dillingham make Oahu much more realistic with lots of autogen and other enhancements. There are a few autogen enhancements for Maui wich do the Hotels, Harbors, Hana and Kapalua airports and most of the towns , there even a add on that does the Maui wind farms. Most of these files are free on Avsim or Flightsim.com. Add FS Dreamteams Honolulu, Lihue, Kahalui, Kona and Hilo airports along with Newports Maui, Molokai, Lanai, and Kauai photo scenery really makes flying Hawaii quite enjoyable.JoshWest Maui Lahainaone2.jpg

Actually, it places the Maui wind farm and three more on the Big Island: Hawi, Lalamilo and South Point. There should be 10m mesh for the islands in the Library, but I need to check and see if that survived the hack a couple years back.I'd like to place a W-H-O-L-E bunch of waterfalls around the islands that fits into the 10m mesh. But there are a lot of them and I need to work it out programmatically and then setup the effect files to fit. That would be released here as well. No timeframe, unfortunately.

These wind farms are special for me as I did the studys for them before they were put in. We put up towers to read the amount of wind over each month and I would have to go up to the sites and download the info and then uploded it to the mainland for study. Also on that Maui addon senery that I posted there are quite alot of waterfall especialy in Hana and they really look that way after it rain. I sure will be interested in what you come up with.Josh

I knew about Maui, but none of the imagery (Google, Bing, Yahoo) had anything other than clouds in that area. Then one day BINGO!, there they were and I could place them accurately, along with the access road. Made my life complete, LOL.I've got the State's data showing locations for all the waterfalls. Once I get a little time to tinker with it I'll read my mesh data to try and properly place the effects and adjust the effects depending upon the drop. The only downside for anyone who might want to use them is that it will only work with the mesh I make, otherwise you could have some strange visuals. While I want to do it right, I don't have plans to do multi versions just to fit other products, be they free or pay based. If I ever do make a trip to the islands it's going to be a lot of fun and discovery for me!

Let me know and I will tell you were all the secret good spots are on all the Islands
