I have downloaded Flight several times, The free download. I can not get passed the arcaid ballon dodging thing. I read here where your able to fly the Stearman etc. I have NO problem buying the game, but would like a look at it first. Do I sign in on windows live to see the game?.. Well it ever ba sold on a DVD. I have had all the Mircosoft Flight Sims and like them very much. Their are no read files in the game folder. Where can I go to find out how to use the Game?RegardsOFF

Hey,Welcome to Avsim. There are lots of simmers here that can try and help you. Hope you have fun with Flight!Kind regards

The first two tutorial missions (flying round the balloons and the water landing one) must be completed before you can use Free Flight or fly the other missions. You don't need to sign into Live to play, but you do if you want to fly the Stearman, download any of the DLC or fly online.Joshua Howard, director of MS Flight, has said that there are no immediate plans for a retail version, but it may change in the future.

You must complete the first two "lessons" first before the rest of the content is "unlocked." There is no way around this (unfortunately), although if you can't complete them at all, that doesn't bode well for actually succeeding regardless of aircraft used in Free Flight mode. The manual for Flight is available as a PDF download from the official MS Flight website:https://microsoftfli...en-us/handbook/I highly suggest using the mouse control during the two introductory lessons if you don't have a yoke or joystick available. Trying to "fly around the baloons" using the keyboard only is an exercise in futility IMHO.

You must finish the Ballons mission and then a Water Landing mission to be able access the Free flight screens. (Try to do them even if you miss the ballons, just dont crash on landing.)Later on, You will be required to sign into LIVE in order to access the DLC content. You can find the read more here: http://www.microsoft.com/games/flight/ and here https://microsoftflight.com/en-US/home/

HEY!.... I will be 72 this July and have bought and flown every single flight simulator ever made, As soon as a new one came out, I would buy it and put the old version in my bookshelf never to be used again. I use both FSX and X-plane 10 and love them both for different reasons but I have to say that I never had as much fun since I downloaded Microsoft Flight. :) Now, I have three to play with but Flight is taking up most of my time right now.I have a CH Eclipse Pro that I use for all of them and if you don't have it, get it as soon as possible. Have a good one.Rms

Don't worry, I'm 37 and it took me a few goes to get past that balloon mission  (It almost reminded me of that horrible mission in PSX game Driver that had to be passed to play any further.)I tried flying with the mouse but it was a bit awkward, so I tried the keyboard which I've used in FS2004 quite a few times and thankfully managed to complete it. It wasn't entirely clear where I was supposed to fly near to or next to or around those balloons... But maybe I just misinterpreted the instructions and visual cues. After opening up Free Flight, I dragged out my old Nostromo dual-analog controller and plugged it in (I like how Flight detects it while running) and that made flying a whole lot easier. I may unbox my Saitek Cyborg Evo stick instead.

Good Idea. You are definitely going to need a joystick or a gamepad to do the acrobatic missions
