March 3, 201214 yr Tom with all due respect, giving an opinion that a product does not live up to expectations should not be offensive to you or anyone else. I agree "personal" attacks are uncalled for, but what I am reading is, only positive comments will be tolerated about a product. I hope this comment does not get me in trouble.Respectfully
March 3, 201214 yr I don't presume to speak for Tom at all, but in my opinion the conundrum lies in that not living up to expectations is not an evaluation of the product, as it has been released. It is holding up the released product to an imaginary standard that can't accurately be quantified, as there are an infinite number of diverse expectations.

March 3, 201214 yr It says right there up at the top of the forum in black on yellow: 'If you wish to express an opinion, please feel free to do so'. So quite where you are reading that 'only positive comments will be tolerated' from is a mystery. There is a world of difference between expressing constructive criticism about something and launching an unwarranted assault on something, or someone. Such lamentable behaviour was of course what set off the alarms in the first place. The difference between civility and beligerence is generally apparent to all, thus all anyone ever has to be cautious about, is crossing such a rather obvious line, and frankly that's always been true of Avsim's forums, where adhering to common sense, and perhaps more importantly, common decency, is and always has been the way to avoid the attention of the forum's moderators.Anybody with anything worth saying, who knows how to say it in a civil tone, is unlikely to be prevented from doing so on Avsim's forum.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
March 3, 201214 yr Author "just curious who set those expectations"The person who gives their opinion......and I for one like to read all opinons concerning a product good or bad. I then can make a decision as to whether or not it may or may not live up to my expectations w/out spending a cent. I have seen alot over the years w/ this hobby and much of it has not meet my expectations, much has, this particular product does not meet my expectations, but I never thought it would. My evaluation is that this is not a sim, but a game as it was designed. I think many had high hopes it would be something it is not. I tried FSX, don't use it and wasted 45.00 on it. I won't make that mistake again. If you enjoy it (Flight), and many will, great for you, it is just not my cup of tea.
March 3, 201214 yr Thank you for your thoughtful insights, ozgur, they will be factored into my own personal evaluation of my Flight experience. : )
March 3, 201214 yr Author I have enjoyed all the comments, Now I have to get back to Crash Investagation.....that is really worth ones time only second to flying FS, the real FS. lol
March 3, 201214 yr I tell you who dont set those expectations: 7 year olds and forum moderators who act like Microsoft's marketing team.Hi oz,These are the exact comments we should be avoiding.Im 36 years old and have been flight simming/gaming for a long time so the ''''7 year olds'' remark is kinda insulting to people who are enjoying Flight.I think most people are realising that MS Flight Simulator is over and are having trouble dealing with this.As I have said I would have loved nothing better than FS11,but alas it looks dead in the water.Enjoying Flight for what it is so far even though I never really enjoyed GA,just hoping Flight can develope in the future adding the missing aspects of what we were used to.Will continue to use FSX and for people that hate Flight they have this option as well as XP and other Flight sims.BTW if I did hate Flight I wouldn't be in this section of the forum,I would be using FSX or playing other games.
