I'm sure I'm in the minority, in the Avsim community for sure. Maybe not in the entire FSX user base, but who knows... I've never spent a penny on add-ons for MSFS since it's primitive Sublogic beginning. In all honesty, years ago, I monkeyed around, adding freeware planes here and there, and a freeware version of my home airport at the time, but that's about it. Enjoyed MS Flight, and bought the expansion and a couple planes for that, in the interest of full disclosure...lol. Yes... I am CHEAP... and apparently, easily amused. But we ARE out there, and we walk among you...

Where, may I ask, do you get "at least a couple of years" from that?

I can, and have spent hundreds of hours doing just THAT! Give me a plane, and the world, and I am good to go.

My guess is, someone got their nose out of joint and complained. No one makes anyone read a thread if they don't like it, why punish the ones who are enjoying it?

I think that's a bit shortsighted, if not self-serving. They made a point to say that possibly 2 generations of potential users had not been tapped. THAT is the goal, IMHO, not necessarily the small existing base of already heavily invested users.
