I'm sure I'm in the minority, in the Avsim community for sure. Maybe not in the entire FSX user base, but who knows... I've never spent a penny on add-ons for MSFS since it's primitive Sublogic beginning. In all honesty, years ago, I monkeyed around, adding freeware planes here and there, and a freeware version of my home airport at the time, but that's about it. Enjoyed MS Flight, and bought the expansion and a couple planes for that, in the interest of full disclosure...lol. Yes... I am CHEAP... and apparently, easily amused. But we ARE out there, and we walk among you...

Where, may I ask, do you get "at least a couple of years" from that?

I can, and have spent hundreds of hours doing just THAT! Give me a plane, and the world, and I am good to go.

My guess is, someone got their nose out of joint and complained. No one makes anyone read a thread if they don't like it, why punish the ones who are enjoying it?

I think that's a bit shortsighted, if not self-serving. They made a point to say that possibly 2 generations of potential users had not been tapped. THAT is the goal, IMHO, not necessarily the small existing base of already heavily invested users.

I miss the WWI fighter game... can they bring that back?

And I freely admit to being one of those knuckle-draggers! The good thing is, to Microsoft in the past, and possibly DTG in the future, my money is just as good as anyone else's! Hopefully, in the end, DTG will offer a product that appeals to we knuckle-draggers, and the more enlightened species as well...

This thread makes it painfully clear why some of us enjoy the camaraderie of the Flight community, and don't miss those in other areas of flight simulation...

WOWWWWW... given the venom expressed in a THREAD about the subject, it's no damned wonder it's become a problem on ACTUAL flights... BTW... for the record... I'm almost 6'9" tall, and NO ONE, is going to recline their seat in front of ME...not by my choice, or insistence, but simply by the laws of physics... and no, I won't be buying an extra seat in front of me, either...

I just reinstalled Flight last week on a laptop I'm using while another is in the shop, and was able to connect (after a few tries) with GFWL and download all my DLC... Hawaii, Alaska, and all the planes I'd purchased... Again, this is less than a week ago.
