  1. I too enjoy the Superbug. Simply the best military simulation we have for FSX and probably for flight sims in general (DCS ain't got nothing on this!)
  2. If you want modern fighters, look at the F/A-18E by VRS Simulations. Absolutely amazing representation. Other awesome payware can be found from Milviz. They have a T-38A, F-15E, F-86F to name a few. Aerosoft makes an excellent F-16C as well. For freeware, look at Dino Cattaneo. He makes the best freeware fighters around (F-14D, F-35A/B/C). Dunno about landclass. As for the Gripen, I can't think of anything. However, that product you linked is not worth your money. It's not worth money at all.
  3. People, give the OP a break. Regardless of what you think he should do, exactly what do you expect to accomplish by being a shmuck to him? OP, they haven't given much, but we do know it's on the way and is supposedly using 777-style technology (in terms of graphics and features, that is) and will surely be awesome.
  4. Good shot. What's this about a V2? I wasn't notified!
  5. How come I can't get my sim to look like your last shot?
  6. In order of preference: F-86F F/A-18C/E F-14D F-15C F-105D Su-27 or any of its variants MiG-29 P-51D SR-71 U-2 Did I mention I like military jets?
  7. I really want your Sim Savvy stuff...
  8. A2A's B-17 is excellent. I prefer their P-51 (the faster the better for me) but if you grab the B-17 with Accu-Sim you'll be about a hairbreadth short of the real thing. The sounds, the flight dynamics, the graphics and aircraft management are all excellent. It is incredibly realistic, and if you love the B-17, you'll love A2A's version.
  9. My biggest hopefuls: Milviz F-100 A2A F-104 Accu-Sim (probably what I'm looking forward to the most) QW 787 PMDG 747 v2 Aerosoft F-14A Aerosoft CRJ Razbam/M2M MiG-29 (I simply cannot wait for a good, modern, Russian fighter) ..and any other planes that catch my eye.
  10. Thank you very much for the suggestions, guys! I'll be sure to consider PFPX in the future.
  11. Hi all. I'm trying to add a bit more depth into my flight planning process. I normally use SimRoutes but I was wondering if there was anything better and relatively easy to use. Fuel planning help would be a nice bonus. However, I don't really want to shell out $60 for PFPX, so does anyone have any recommendations for a free flight planner?
  12. If you want the airliners, check out http://precisionmanuals.com/. PMDG does the best of the best work on airliners. However, as someone above mentioned, they are somewhat study-intensive. You can hop in and just fly around, but to actually operate it takes a bit of willpower. If you're an Airbus fan, Aerosoft's Airbus X Extended (aka AXE, Airbus X A320/321) provides an excellent level of graphics and decent systems simulation. They aren't as study-intensive as PMDG's planes are, but have enough layers to keep things interesting. You can find that at http://aerosoft.com If you want some interesting levels of depth added into your aircraft, look at http://a2asimulations.com. They have a module called Accu-Sim that is nothing short of spectacular. http://realairsimulations.com also has an excellent selection of quality GA stuff. Once again, welcome!
  13. Welcome to the Flight Simulation community! Be prepared to spend many hours on your computer engrossed in your new hobby There are thousands of addons for FSX. Some of which are amazing, some of which are those of which we do not speak. First question though, what kind of flying do you like to do? General aviation, airliners, military, etc. This'll help us narrow it down for you.
  14. Great shots! The C-17 is a mighty beast. Just out of curiosity, how exactly did you get to McMurdo? Visiting Antarctica is actually on my bucket list and I have no idea how someone can pay them a visit.
  15. I also read the thread and feel very bad for the poor guy. It was my hope that this thread would have brought awareness to the forum at large and perhaps give people a chance to double-check their actions on a conscious level. Unfortunately for that guy, that didn't happen. Regardless of what he was asking or how he was asking it, those responses were demeaning at best.
