Free Flight Planner?

Featured Replies

Hi all. I'm trying to add a bit more depth into my flight planning process. I normally use SimRoutes but I was wondering if there was anything better and relatively easy to use. Fuel planning help would be a nice bonus. However, I don't really want to shell out $60 for PFPX, so does anyone have any recommendations for a free flight planner?

You can go to flight aware.com and put in a real flight and use that flight plan (doesn't work everywhere)

I just use: http://rfinder.asalink.net/free/

Also, you can google and see what other people are using for the same flight.

Enjoy.

Hi

For starters google search virtualdispatch.

It has a lot of things like PFPX and leads you to a couple of different ways to create routes.

You can also use skyvector.com to find your own. And still import it to virtualdispatch.

If you fly in Europe you can sign up at eurofpl.com as an enthusiast and there you can validate a route or you can put in two airports and it'll give you a route.

Hope this helps

Try SimBrief. I still think PFPX is worth getting eventually. It's not that you can't replace it with freeware (SimBrief does realistic flight plans w/ ETOPS). But PFPX makes things a lot more streamlined and organized, especially over long term use, so I personally end up flying more.

Thank you very much for the suggestions, guys! I'll be sure to consider PFPX in the future.
