Very bad Stutterings

Featured Replies

I love flight am a ga flyer low and slow. Flight has stutters just as fsx has. No matter what settings in flight even on low for all settings, still have stutterings. Have tried all types of settings with inspector but nothing seems to help. Anyone and I hope Microsoft is monitoring this topic that can advise how to correct would be greatly appreciated. My system is very uptodate and I have tried frame limiters no limiters etc. My normal no limit fps in flight with all settings at maximum is excellent topping out at 107 with sky views and 70 flying over heavy scenery on any island with RV or A5 . Shimmering of trees or buildings is not a problem my antialasing settings with nvidia inspector has taken care of that.My specs Asus rampage 3 formula motherboard, video card is asus nvidia geforce gtx560 1GB, kingston hyperx ddr3 pc3 12800 ram 16gb, cpu is I7 970 6 core overclocked to 4.0, operating system windows 7 home premium . Use a 65 inch vizio tv as my monitor at 1920 X 1080. I have been a flight simmer for 14 years and run fsx very well but have always had stutters in fsx as I think we all do. I was a beta tester for flight but really just monitored not much input but did bring this up in the beta also. Was really hopeful microsoft had eliminated this stuttering problem with flight but maybe I need a setting somewhere I dont know about . Help please and fly safe, the passengers will love you for it

I guess your computer is too good for it! ;)

Strange, I installed and set all my graphics to highest options and it is smooth as silk for me, without needing to make any Inspector adjustments.

Hi,You might be suffering from "High powered PC Flight Stutter Syndrome". As a number of people have noticed this, I am going to try and do a tutorial for it this week, but it is only going to help if your PC is indeed "over-powered" and can produce approximately double (or more) frames as per your monitor refresh rate if vsync is disabled. There normally isn't such a problem, since vsync should take of it and throttle it perfectly smoothly at 60 fps, but it doesn't in the case of Flight. For the time being, try downloading DXTory and simply running it in the background (don't record, just run it in the background whilst you run Flight). If that does not help then you don't have stutter due to an overly powerful PC. And if it does help, you will notice the improvement. It is obvious and immediate. There are more details to this as well some tests to determine if you have this particular PC problem or not, but it really needs a reasonably detailed tutorial.

Like to help but I was just informed that all modern computers handle vanilla FSX and Flight no problem in another thread. And my solutions were not worth mentioning. And I have a lowly laptop, even though the cpu out benchmarks a lot of stock not OC'ed desktops, but my gpu is kinda weak. But I know this issue, high fps like 60's or better but occasional stutters.

I just started getting stutters today as well, was so smooth when I installed it with the occasional stutter but now they are constant and I haven't changed anything except the joystick buttons. Changing the graphics settings doesn't do anything.

I get it where it freezes for a moment when someone enters or leaves a multiplayer session, that's annoying enough, but these are constant microstutters like watching a very fast slide show but my frame rate is high.

I do not fly on line. I dont care for missions. The stutterings will stop at about 4000 altitude with any airplane. Am a low slow scenery flyer and cannot for the life of me stop stutterings every 5 or 10 seconds.

I've got the same problem. It'll be smooth then stutter for 3-4 seconds, then back to smooth at low altitude. running it on highest settings with a i7 2700k @ 4.7ghz and cf 6970 (MSF only uses one card though)

I haven't tried flying offline although I can't see that it would help much, I'll do some further testing when I have the time.
