March 6, 201214 yr After downloading beta 7, which has helped a lot, my grey hangers, towers and all the roads and runways have turned medium to dark brown.Has anyone else experienced this? Other than that, this beta seems to be the best one yet. Although I still have some shimmering, not nearly as bad as before. A couple of times the weather has changed itself, and had to reapply a couple of button assignments once. This was after the download and making sure everything was as before. Donald E. March 6, 201214 yr Hello Don,No brown stuff here with Beta 7, its working fine (with one exception) and all colors look normal to me. Slowly being able to increase the rendering options tohigher levels. At the risk of going off thread here Don, how does your C-130 (included in Beta 7) look to you? My 2d cockpit is way to close and the 3D is nothing but aircraft ribs.No amount of Lateral Field of View (Rendering Options) will help.Very close to filing a bug report but want to make sure its valid.73Chuck Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700KF CPU @ 4.90GHz 32.0 GB RAM Windows 11 Home NVIDIA RTX 3080Ti 12GB Multi monitors WD SN850 M2 2TB PSU 1000W. 360 AIO.cooling.
March 6, 201214 yr I don't have a "brown" issue either. Don, it's probably dust on your glasses from flying into all those out of the way dirt strip GA airports. :( At the risk of going off thread here Don, how does your C-130 (included in Beta 7) look to you? March 6, 201214 yr Author I know what the brown issue is, I just wanted to make sure it was what I thought it was before I asked the person who made the file that caused it how to remedy it without uninstalling and reinstalling the whole sim.The C130 doesn't have a 3D panel in it Chuck. In fact the whole thing looks to be not finished, in 2D if you look out the side the engines are there but most of the wing is gone, looking to the back there is no fuselage. Makes one wonder why anyone would release a half baked something or "nother doesn''t it. I didn't even know that a C130 was in this thing. :smile:Haven't tried to fly it, probably won't. Donald E. March 6, 201214 yr Glad you will get the brown issued sorted out Don.Thanks to both of you folks for the report on the C-130. I am going to file a bug report. As much as I have tolerance for the developer, that was nota good idea to put the C-130 in without completion. I spent some time trying to figure it out, and at my age time is precious!!Chuck Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700KF CPU @ 4.90GHz 32.0 GB RAM Windows 11 Home NVIDIA RTX 3080Ti 12GB Multi monitors WD SN850 M2 2TB PSU 1000W. 360 AIO.cooling.

I have not fired it up yet today to look again.Bob Officially retired
March 8, 201214 yr I thought the C-130 looked good, save it's lacking a 3D cockpit. However I would prefer if the artists spent there time making 3D Cockpits for the airplanes that are already there, instead of including completely new planes with no 3d cockpit.
March 9, 201214 yr Author The brown issue kind of sorted it self out. I was getting really dark brown shadows, airports, roads and most anything else off in the distance I started getting this after installing a third party scenery file, then I took it out of the custom scenery as I didn't really like the appearance it was making then the brown started. Still don't rightly know what the problem was, but now the brown for the most part is gone. some runways still look more brown than grey concrete, but not as objectionable as it was. Seems to have sorted it out by itself.Afer downloading the o4 rc1 beta, things pretty well sorted out. I have had some strange things after this beta download though, the sim started running insanely fast, I was getting 40 and 50 FPS with HDR on and FxSSAA quad rendering. Things were looking really beautiful textures looked almost like a photograph. Then suddenly I couldn't get 19 FPS with everything turned off. I've rebooted turned off and on, changed screen resolutions and anything and everything else i could think of, then for no apparent reason things are back to normal. Getting reasonable frame rates with HDR, but using the FXAA anitaliasing. Still getting a lot of shimmer. Donald E. Donovan Flying is the 2nd greatest thrill known to man The 1st is landing.
March 9, 201214 yr HI Don,I wonder if you might have a video card going bad on you and showing up as intermittent operation? If you have a Nvidia card maybe your could try Nvidia Inspector and keep an eye on the video task while flying.Chuck I thought the C-130 looked good, save it's lacking a 3D cockpit.I cannot get my 2D cockpit to look correct. Could you tell me what setting you have for the Lateral View in your rendering settngs? Thanks,Chuck Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700KF CPU @ 4.90GHz 32.0 GB RAM Windows 11 Home NVIDIA RTX 3080Ti 12GB Multi monitors WD SN850 M2 2TB PSU 1000W. 360 AIO.cooling.
