I haven't received the "forum index page shows only the calendar" issue since your post, but now I get occasions (about the same number of occasions) whereby the index page does not load at all, and shows just the AVSIM banner, the selection tabs (AVSIM Online, Community, File Library, etc.), and no content below that whatsoever.Something appears to still be amiss...Editing to add: I had to use my browser's history link to get back to this thread, as I tried at least a dozen times to get to the index page but was continually greeted by the screen below. Instead of getting the malformatted screen (with the calendar), I'm now getting lots and lots of blanks...(Firefox 10.0.2)

everyone else is reporting it fixed. IPS shows it fixed, try clicking on the communities tab or clear ALL cache in your browser. I am not seeing any other issues on this end.Or, you have managed to collapse the entire board. Each and every panel of the forums is collapsible. Not sure where the "grab" point is, but you might have to poke around to find it.

After more fits and starts this morning with the error, I'm editing my post to add good news!It would appear the blank page issue may be a function of advertisement blocking software. I use AdBlock Plus with my Firefox installation, and started thinking that might be the issue. After disabling AdBlock fully, I have had no issues with the AVSIM forum index pages. It would appear that the IP.Board system is using some sort of scripting which is very advertisement-like to present the pages. As such, AdBlock items might latch on and prevent it from being displayed.Users with the blank page issue who are using an advertisement blocking tool will want to disable it to see if that improves the situation, and if so, perhaps apply an exception for the AVSIM forums site.I should have looked to that first, but I've been running with AdBlock for so long, I forgot it was even onboard.

thanks for the reply. I will stop banging my head against the servers now. :sad:And for all, I use a "DEFAULT" Chrome browser and have NEVER had an issue with our forums here; other then the mobile version which I rarely use anyway, which is why I didn't see it. My point being like most software, sometimes we try to OVER tweak it. If we allow it to do it's job, sometimes, most of the time, it works as advertised. I KNOW this goes against ALL we know about FS products and our tweaking mind, mine included. But we chose IPB back when because it was cross-browser compatible. Thanks for reading.

Hi Tom,Please take this in the spirit in which it is intended: as being helpful :Peace:I see that in IE when the forums first come up, a post, in this case "Stop FSX Muting when not in foreground (focus)", is contained in the <div> ipsAd, and then inside a <center> tag. That accounts for the centering that people are seeing. Upon refresh, the post is contained in the <div> ipsBox, which doesn't contain any center tags. So your BBS software is generating the html differently after a refresh. I would have your developer start looking there.Additionally, I would highly recommend using crossbrowsertesting.com . I use this site to test all of my web UIs as it allows you to pick just about any modern os and browser combo, including old IE6 which I still have to (unfortunately) support, as well as all mobile browsers. You can see the selections available here: http://crossbrowsertesting.com/configsHere is a screen shot of IE with centering and without, respectively, Good luck!:

Cheers,

Jonathan

I'd change my opinion if I could:Since today the forums are behaving badly. I get an empty page very often. I have to reopen Firefox to open the forum successfully again.EDIT: Removing adblock also fixed it.But, what about thumbnails!??
