I copy the flight plans and altitudes from Flightaware.com. Then I enter them into Sim Routes and save the FSX file.I then load the FP into FSX and correct the altitude (for example it suggest 9000, I change it to FL350) and save the FP, overwriting the original.Then I load up my flight, start Radar contact and request clr.When they give me Clearance it tells me a squawk code but for initial altitude it tells me "___" so I never know what the initial altitude is.I read the charts for the SID and I C/M 8000' once I depart ATC keeps telling me I'm busting my alt and to maintain my assigned alt "____" I acknowledge and it says, rgr maintian alt "___" but it never tells me the number.How do I have it tell me the number of the actual alt?Thank you.

i'd have to see the flight plan you are using.remember the altitude box in rc, is in hundreds of feet. so enter 90 for 9000, or 350 for 35000if the altitude isn're readable in the plan by rc, rc won't know what the altitude is either.pinned topic on how to make a log. be sure to click debug before loading the .pln. then duplicate the problem, send me the log. i'll tell you what's going wrong.jd

Hi,I note that you are correcting the altitude in FSX but are you changing the altitude in the RC flight plan.I suspect that the altitude box on the RC contollers information page does not contain an altitude hence the blank response from clearance.Try adjusting the altitude at the sim routes stage before exporting to RC and FSX or use FS Build.Norman

You can check your .pln file (FS9 or FSX format) using word to read it. if you decide to edit a .pln file directly (not recommended as the format must be exact) drag the mouse over the value and type in the new numbers. It must be saved as a text type file and the the filename adjusted to get rid of the .txt extension.If the format is not to spec, RC may not read the altitude. This includes lines preceding and following the altitude data.
