March 12, 201214 yr HiJust downloaded the flight sim and purchased Hawaii adventure and I am really enjoyed it.I know that to eliminate stuttering you enable the moving map on the instrument panel of the Icon, and this really works, but how do you enable the moving map on the Van's RV-6A? If you haven't got the moving map on the RV-6A then is there something else to enable so you won't get any stuttering?stelios Stelios Christofides
March 12, 201214 yr There is no moving map on the Vans RV-6A model we got in Flight, sorry. You can reduce stuttering by lowering your graphic settings. Try one at a time and see the results. Ramón. Time, is the one thing no one can buy.
March 13, 201214 yr Author Thanks Ramon but what I don't understand is why do I have to lower the graphics settings as i get no stuttering with the icon plane (when i enable the map) and have stuttering with the Vans RV-6A one.stelios Stelios Christofides
March 13, 201214 yr Hi Stelios,The only solution for other aircraft at this point in time is to download the DXTory application and run it in the background when Flight is running.
March 13, 201214 yr Hi Stelios,The only solution for other aircraft at this point in time is to download the DXTory application and run it in the background when Flight is running. Is it necessary to setup anything on DXTory or just install it and open in background? Thanks

March 13, 201214 yr Hi,Please see my detailed instructions in this thread. If still problems, let me know.http://forum.avsim.net/topic/363991-terrible-stuttering-unless-moving-map-is-enabled/page__p__2293419__fromsearch__1#entry2293419
March 13, 201214 yr I tried DXtory, which did help smooth out the frame rate, but found that I liked Bandicam better.YMMV, but Bandicam will do the same thing by limiting the frame rate to whatever you choose. It's just one more option. In any case, either of these programs worked better for me than FPS_limiterthat I've been using with FSX.http://www.bandicam.com/ AMD 7800X3D, RTX 4090, 42" LG C3 OLED 4K TV/Monitor

That makes just absolutely no sense to me, unless it somehow changes the scenery outside by reducing something. Don B

In the Icon it is just around the bottom of the joystick floor mountings. The textures in this area break up and shimmer and I can see the terrain though the resulting holes. Turning on the moving map eliminates this provided that the frame rate stays above around 25 fps. (Typically, I get between 20-30 fps depending on the terrain). Below 25 fps the shimmering returns again whether the map is on or off.It is even worse with the RV-6 and Stearman. The whole joystick and parts of the peddals shimmer constantly. And, of course, no moving map to turn on.Obviously, there must be a reason why the moving map partly resolves this shimmering. Would really be interesting to know why.
