A New Product Idea

Featured Replies

a product, for which i would be ready and willing to shell out some funds... historically correct libraries of high-quality GA gauges... let's say, piper 60's, cessna 70's... you get the drift... glass reflections, gauge covers, multiple versions if there were multiple versions...i love tweaking my cockpits to match real birds and my heart bleeds each time a see a totally sweet million-dollar external model with a bunch of misaligned default cessna gauges thrown on the VC panel...just an idea... like i said, you get at least one customer there:)ps.i guess somebody like F1 or DF could just bundle all their amazing gauges together and make it a product :) but what i am r-e-a-l-l-y looking for is a late 90's cessna 172, yup, the default one :)

You what the solution is don't you? After many months of waiting for particular pieces of scenery I realised that the only way to get them was make them myself! Bite the bullet and learn the carft of guage building.

yupi actually did that onceafter examining the tradeoffs, i'll passconsidering how eager i am to part with my doughi guess it's "a" solution not "the" solutionwouldn't you say...:)cheersvilk

Yeh, I know what you mean. I must admit that I've climbed a very steep learning curve with scenery but I enjoy it now. Buying somebody else's work is the easier option...as long as it exists!!

not even that...see, i'm a programmer/designer by tradewhen i fire off the simlast thing i care aboutis work:-lol

I'll tell you what, lets make you a deal, send me the following and I'll learn to program guages:- $1,000,000 USD- One C-172 Skyhawk SP (2004/05 Model)- A nice caribbean mansion- Life time supply of first class airline tickets to anywhere- ...oh... another $1,000,000 USD:-lol :( ;) :+Jason :-wave

Fair enough.........who wants to take work home with them?!:) Splash down...the first payment is on its way...who should I make the cheque out to? ;-)

This has been my biggest frustation about FS-and I agree-with near photo real outside views-the inside views are still for the most part in the dark ages in comparison.Reality Xp is the only place I know to go (http://www.reality-xp.com/)-and since their inception I am always bugging the good folks there for more-right now a stormscope. Both their payware and freeware gauges have upped the bar for fs-when I did my Debonair Reality Xp kindly generated many of the real gauges (stec 50 autpilot, egt gauges, warning lights). I also generated all my instruments in this project from photos-I for instance can't stand the cartoony hand drawn artificial horizon FS comes with.I would also wish for a product such as you mention-there are so many real world gauges that need to be done. For FS to increase reality-it needs these real world gauges. I would suggest requesting Reality XP is a good start! I have bought many payware products only to get a single gauge that increases reality-but there is so far to go in this area!Right now I need a kln 94 which my new plane has along with a rnav, century III autopilot, and whole slew of instruments that don't exist in the fs world yet.... :-( Keeping fingers crossed that this area of the sim gets improved by both MS and 3rd party developers.http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg

>forgive me if i'm a tad slow...Well it might be a brand new product... he-he, As for the link, flightone is quite commercial... But then again, I'm not easily parted with my money, although mostly Dutch I'm well aware of the Scottish heritage in our bloodlines. Vilk? Does the name ring familiar in my ears...? just Vilk - or don't tell me it's ol' Crazy Vilk I know so well... :-lolPieter
