HiFi Xpax or FScaptain?

Featured Replies

I have heard good things and bad things with Xpax but have not heard much about FScaptain. Which is a better program? I am looking for a more lively flight experience.

I have both of them and they works side be side. XPax provides passenger services. FsCaptain is a dispatcher system. I don't fly without them. FsCaptain was the missing link for my flights.

Hi,If you might be interested in FSCaptain you don't have to buy it sight unseen. There's a fully functional free version that's only limited by the three airports for your departure flights (KOLM, KPDX, or KSEA.) Your destination can be anywhere you have fuel and fair winds for flight. There is no time or other restriction and no features are left out.http://www.fscaptain.netI also note that FSCaptain provides passengers and attendants for passenger flights, cargo for cargo flights, and a helpful FO (any or all of which can be disabled if you have another product you prefer and just want the dispatch functions.)The current version is 1.3 and the new 1.3.1 public beta has just been released today.Work begins soon on version 1.4 which will have major new features.Dutch

Whilst I do not have FSCaptain, I have been running Xpax since December. For the dollars, Xpax ain't too bad. It handles the passenger boarding, some sound enhancements that run outside FSX, like passenger voices as they are boarding, flight attendants that make the safety announment as you are taxiing to the runway, the pilot- I assume - announcing they are cleared for takeoff.During the flight, you will hear some more announcements from the attendants during the climb out, again as you get to cruise level, then like one more announcing the beverage service. If you have a lengthy flight, it will get pretty quiet from then on.Upon descent, the attendants will start talking again, probably couple times during the descent, then when you land. You taxi to the gate, hit the parking brake, the jetway moves out and the exit opens, and you hear the passengers starting to deplane. The program has a fairly customizable menu, and grades you on your flight depending on the passenger satisfaction - you can set that also from low to high. After having flown many flights with it, it can become somewhat repetitive, does add some ambiance to the flight though.I took a look at the FSCaptain site, and whilst some of what it does may be the same, it would appear it does much more as well , namely in the dispatching area and some others. Someone has already stated the both work fine together, it would appear to me that probably FSCaptain has much more depth to it. Matter of fact I have bookmarked it and may purchase it myself to give it a try.Hope this helps,
