F/O Not turning on APU bleed air during engine shutdown flow

Featured Replies

Hi,On my installation of the FS2Crew Button Control version, the F/O does not turn the APU bleed air on during his normal engine shutdown flow. The F/O correctly resets the PACKS and all after engine cutoff, but leaves the APU bleed air in the 'off' position. I believe this is incorrect.Thank you.-John Thomas

Hi,The config panel shows APU as the source. I should mention that I'm typically starting FS2Crew from the 'Before Taxi' checklist, rather than from the 'Preflight Checklist'. I'm not sure if that makes a difference or not, but the APU bleed switch is in the correct OFF position and the center isolation valve is in the correct AUTO position in this initial situation. The F/O correctly opens the center isolation valve during his pre-shutdown flow, but never turns on the APU bleed air before or after calling ready for the shutdown checklist. Thank you.

Sorry to dig up an old report, but I still have a consistent issue with the copilot not flipping the apu bleed switch to on during the engine shutdown procedure at the gate.

I have the very latest and greatest SP.

I never checked, this last flight I used was from a saved flight scenario at cruise, so I skipped the preflight altogether.

I'm pretty sure the previous flight, which was a complete sector from start to finish from KSEA - KLAS, I had the external source at APU.

Anyhow, is it now a prerequisite to make sure that external power source setting is on APU before gate arrival?

You just have to make sure it's the one you want, that's all. It might have been something other than APU. We'll look into it though :)

Just a little followup here, I ran though a few saved flights (approaches at TOD) and double checked to make sure that APU is the external source. I still had the same issue at the gate with the copilot not flipping on the APU bleed air.

As mentioned before, I am using button control version 1.3, and the copilot correctly flips the isolation valve from auto to open at the gate after engine shutdown.

No problemo! I'm just relieved to know its not just me.
