March 19, 201214 yr Gents I fly for Norvegian Air shuttel NAX, what messure do they use in there 737-800Weight: LB/KGSpeed: KT/KMHDistance: NM/SM/KMAltitude: FT/MetersLiquid: LB/GAL/KG/LitersAnd probely dumb question in the 737NGX is speed in the HUD shown in KT right? and KT is Knots? In FSX you can set Indicated airspeed or True airspeed, whats the diffrent and what shall I set in FSX?
March 19, 201214 yr If they follow the same rules we do... FT, Metric tonnes and knots. Name available upon request
March 19, 201214 yr Usage of feet/meters is a thing defined by the place you fly in. Meters are only in use in some (not all) post-soviet states, and even there, mostly only under transition level - Russia and co. recently adopted RVSM, and in China. NG has a button to show meters in addition to feet on PFD.Usage of knots vs. km/h is mostly a decision of airplane manufacturers. Knots are in widespread use since about WWII although you might still find mph or km/h, mostly on GA planes and of course soviet airliners.KG/LB is decision of operator. 99% sure SAS uses kilograms.True airspeed is airspeed corrected for pressure altitude. Indicated airspeed measures directly how much units of air flow around the airplane, which is what aerodynamics is largely based on - speeds like stall speed, flap speeds, etc. There is however less air in the same volume as near the ground, so you are in fact travelling faster as you climb with same IAS. TAS is not used directly in an airplane, but serves as a basis for calculation of groundspeed and mach number. --Peter Fabian
March 19, 201214 yr Hi,Norwegian uses Ft,KG,Knts,NM and Litres.Indicated airspeed is the preference and most common use in FSX.Norwegian information as shown in a video of Norwegian Ops. Norman Bowman
