March 23, 201214 yr 2 - The reason you aren't climbing above 2,700 is you have no vertical speed mode selected. You have ALT HOLD selected, which holds your current altitude. With 3,000 set in the ALT window, push the VS button and turn the VS to 1,500 - 2,000. When it reached 3,000 it will switch to ALT HOLD.The FSX default 737 does not have a VS button, selecting ALT HOLD is correct for this aircraft. He'll need to click on the vertspeed selector wheei to increase the VS, then it will climb to 3500.Regards.Ernie.
March 24, 201214 yr Buy the PMDG 737NGX addon, follow the tutorials, then learn how to fly a real 737
March 24, 201214 yr Buy the PMDG 737NGX addon, follow the tutorials, then learn how to fly a real 737 and you need to sign your name too. i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
March 24, 201214 yr Buy the PMDG 737NGX addon, follow the tutorials, then learn how to fly a real 737He doesn't even know how to use the default 737. So you recommend he spend more money to get a more complex airliner which willtake him even longer to understand and master ? Likely the only thing that would happen is he'd get frustrated and quit FSX altogether.Regards.Ernie.
March 24, 201214 yr Yup, stick to the default aircraft and master those first (preferably with a little prop plane such as the Cessna rather than an airliner). This flying business is complicated enough for a beginner without throwing all that other equipment into the mix as well. You can get into all that fancy stuff when you kow how the basic stuff works and let the complexities grow along with your knowledge and experience. By all means give landing the 737 a try for some fun, but keep in mind that pilots do not learn to fly on airliners, they start on the smaller stuff first before an airline lets them loose on 60 million dollars-worth of big shiny airliner.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

The 737 is not hard to fly at all.Are you talking to me? You don't need to sign your name on the avsim forums.
March 24, 201214 yr Are you talking to me? You don't need to sign your name on the avsim forums.omgOkay, Gear Up and Off. Let's get back on topic. i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
March 24, 201214 yr Why not? Following video and printed tutorials is very easy. The 737 is not hard to fly at all.If that were true, this guy wouldn't be having so much trouble with the 'default' 737.There's quite a few things to know before you can do an Instrument approach, we think its easy because we are familiar with it, but its not going to be easy for a complete beginner.Regards.Ernie.
March 24, 201214 yr He has trouble because hes loading an airplane, and trying to learn everything without any guide at all. omgOkay, Gear Up and Off. Let's get back on topic.Excuse me? you were the one to come in here and say something pointless and off topic. Take your own advice.
March 24, 201214 yr autopilot, I recommend you to use this video, it helped me a lot when I was learning. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-c710SHDU0It has no voice sadly, but it has captions. i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
March 24, 201214 yr Gear Up and OffCool it down man. I recommend you to use this video, it helped me a lot when I was learning. While I find this video a great tutorial, I still find it useless to him. He asked what Approach means! I think he really need to get down to the basics. And those are neither a NGX nor a default 737.In real life, you also first gotta learn basics, learning to fly with a Cessna or whatever, and then go further to ATPL. You can't just start with the ATPL.

He's hilarious! i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
March 24, 201214 yr Yeah, I'm with you on this one - I did it too, just for the sake of the fun. I guess he got all the support he'll ever need. No need to pursue this any longer.
April 6, 201214 yr Author autopilot, I recommend you to use this video, it helped me a lot when I was learning. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-c710SHDU0 It has no voice sadly, but it has captions. April 6, 201214 yr Author Al Thank you man! You're so calm with me in this tutorial. You've given me always a courage instead of saying go to school and learn from start and so on. Thanks again.
