Ok, but would that mean if the CPU count reaches 1 that the CPU is bottle neck ? I have unlocked the 4th core on the Athlon X3 445 which is stable. There is a developer blog at XP saying that car traffic will use CPU bandwidth so when I switch on car traffic my frames drop. hmm should I get a Phenom ?

There is a known issue with XP10's car traffic AND weather and how they work with ATI/AMD cards.Even if you turn on car traffic to "Siberian Winter" and add a couple of clouds, you will get an fps drop.Ben Supnik is in touch with ATI/AMD about this and it'll get fixed in a future update.

@GoranMThanks for the tip for using uncompressed textures now I see around 1.2 Gb of data in the VRAM with texture res to extreme and fps drop :) at least till now.I forgot to mention this one , but occasionally I get a frame halt

I don't know if this will help. It is obvious that since the 6XXX Generation AMD does something that X-Plane doesn't like.My older Radeon 5870 doesn't know this kind of problem.

Well especially at this moment many ATI CArds drop down if there are any Clouds or Cars active.I only know that several of their older flag ships don't have this problem. So I am a bit surprised that they even advertise newer cards as long as this bug isn't fixed.

It sounds like a familiar problem FSX the shader 2.0 and the clouds.

Guys currently I am stuck with the HD 6750 as I have a limited budget because I want to also get a Phenom X4 960T. So till I do not get my hd 6750 sold I cannot upgrade to hd 6850, but my question is would also the Phenom upgrade help me in XPX performance ?

I am happy that I upgraded to a 960t BE , even @stock speed I am pulling around 27 fps full blown settings OK not full as NO HDR / NO CLOUDS but car and everything else on max.
