FSX CTD before descent

Featured Replies

Good evening,I am currently in flight between SPCL and SLLP (landig altitude 13100ft).I have completed the landing briefing. When the FO says he's ready for the checklist. I call for the descent check list and then FSX crashes. I have SP1C for the NGX installed.Stephane

Hello Bryan,Thanks for the info. By the way, I've noticed that during the preflight, the FO is setting the destination altitude on the overhead panel, whereas he should set 6000ft first during the preflight. Just prior the descent, the landing altitude should be set to the destination airport's altitude (for high altitude airports).Stephane

Hi,Let me explain how it works for you as you aren't entirely correct. If landing altitude is at or below 6000 feet the LAND ALT indicators are set to Destination field elevation., If landing altitude is above 6000 feet Prior to takeoff the LAND ALT indicator is set to 6000 feet, At initial descent or approximately 20 minutes prior to landing the LAND ALT indicator is set to the Destination field elevation, FS2Crew models this.

It's from the FCOM, supplementary procedure.During my preflight yesterday, I have checked the overhead panel and the landing altitude was set to 13150ft by the FO, for my flight to La Paz SLLP. I will try again on another flight !

Ummm, actually the NGX version doesn't model that specific feature :Nerd:I'll add this procedure to SP1.

The NGX doesn't have the High ALT Landing Switch, With the High ALT Landing switch the procedure is a little different, this one applies to the one without it. :(
