Anyone having CTD's?

Featured Replies

Hey guys,Normally a topic like this would go in the Hardware or CTD forum, but in my case the CTD's only happen with the PMDG 737NGX. After a lot of trial and error, hardware replacements, reinstalls and reformats, I've run out of options and decided to bite the bullet and ask if anyone else has encountered CTD's involving ATC.DLL. In my case, only when flying the NGX, I'll hit an ATC.DLL app crash anywhere between 15 minutes to 3 hours into the cruise phase - and only the cruise phase.I can say without any reasonable doubt that this crash probably has nothing to do with the NGX itself - mostly because I've learned atc.dll crashes when FSX' encounters errors in displaying multiple image streams, especially when it renders multiple overlays; Though in my case it only happens using the NGX. Unfortunately it affects 100% of my NGX flights. Interestingly in my case my MD11/747 fly just fine.Has anyone else encountered atc.dll with the NGX? I'd like to know if someone has had luck fixing this problem before I give up on trying to solve it, and write off my NGX fleet. Thanks for any suggestions or opinions.lolwut.png

Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory.
The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire.
To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune.

There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you.
It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.

Hey there, I am having the exact same issue upon initialization. Have you had any luck?

Have you raised a ticket in support? Other than that all I can suggest is you google appcrash ngx and you will find a lot of items not all trying to sell you PCFix or whatever.

I deleted my FSX.CFG file, lowered my graphics options, and stopped using AI Traffic. The combination of those 3 things (no custom fsx.cfg, extremely low graphics settings, no AI) stopped me from encountering ATC.DLL related crashes. My guess is that my fix won't work with you if you're encountering the crash during initialization because my crashes seemed to happen during cruise long after I've left any demanding situations.

Give it a shot, it can't hurt.

I'm also having random although more frequent crashes.

The problem only happens with the NGX. I have run the repair for FSX and Acceleration and re-installed the aircraft with no improvement. I've also turned off all my add-ons.

I'm not sure what to try next.

hi i had the dreaded ntdl.dll ctds all the time till i found out what was causing the ctds, only found out by accident by reading in the fscrew2 forum where some one else was having the same ctds and he found the solution. The problem was in the nrm orbx sceenry pack for canada and the 2 modules that were causing it. so if you have got orbx and got the nrm and havnt updated to the latest service pack that came out to solve the ctd that people were having than download the service pack and it will fix your ctd providing you have orbx that is
