Middle mouse button - viewpoint

Featured Replies

I can't seem to get my middle mouse button to work for moving the viewpoint around the cockpit. It would be nice to look over the side while using the stearman.I have a Logitech G5 laser mouse and the middle mouse button functions in other apps like it is supposed to. Scrolling the middle mouse button works on dials, etc. in the VC and if I click the right mouse button I can look around the VC, but I can't seem to change the viewpoint like it says you can (stearman intro).

If you hold the middle mouse button down, the cursor should change. Let us know if it doesn't.I've mapped a couple of buttons on my joystick to handle the same function, but I had to manually add a repeat line to them. I find myself using that lot more now than when it was just the mouse.Hook

No problems here moving the eyepoint around with the middle button of a G5.

RoboRay, what is the version number of the setpoint software (if you use it) and the driver for your mouse?I think the problem I'm having has to do with the either the setpoint software and/or the driver. I have setpoint 6.32.7 and driver 5.33.14, the newest offered by Logitech. The reason I think it has something to do with these new versions is that a lot of applictions don't recognize the middle mouse button and both the thumb buttons. In other games like BF3 and CS:S I've had to assign keystrokes to those keys in order for them to work whereas in the past with the setpoint software and driver version previous to the newest one I didn't have that problem. I'll have to try loading up the previous version, if I can find it and see if that fixes it.

If the cursor didn't change when you pressed the middle button, that was going to be my second suggestion.

In that case, it's almost certainly the mouse driver.Hook

Problem solved. I uninstalled the Logitech setpoint software and driver and tested it with just the driver Win7 provides and everything works fine, finally I can change the eyepoint. Nice of Logitech to release faulty software.

Lol, you just made me remember that I forgot to install Setpoint the other day when I reinstalled Windows.

I wish there where key-bindings for "pan view left", "pan view right" and so on. Using the mouse for both controlls and to look around gets clumsy (or maybe its just me) - and since the keyboard isnt the best way to control the aircrafts then using the keyboard to change view would make a lot of sence.I miss the autopilot when I want to look around the cockpit and set radios etc with the mouse. Even an on/off straight and level a/p would do./end of requests :)-

I have had their G19 gaming keyboard now for about 18 months or so. Absolutely love the keyboard - their software on the other hand...

Same here.Flight never recognized my Logitech middle button and I always run on runways completely blind both with Stearman and Maule.

Fwiw,Don't know if it is an option for you guys that are having trouble with the middle mouse button...I mapped my eyepoint movements to a small hat switch on my Cougar stick. I also added the repeat line for each movement in my standard.xml file for my stick. Now by pressing the hat switch to the left, my eyepoint moves left, and likewise in the other directions, right, up, down. With the repeat statement added, pressing and holding in that direction the eyepoint keeps moving at a smooth rate, allowing me to release when it is right where I want it. This makes it very easy for me to move my eyepoint with my thumb on the hatswitch on the joystick, rather than having to take my hand off to mess around with the middle mouse button. I find this very convenient and easy to use.I also mapped the eyepoint reset to another button on my stick as well, so very easily can hit it to get the eyepoint back to default view in the cockpit...

Do you have setpoint and the logitech driver installed for the mouse? Flight wasn't the only game that wasn't recognizing the additional buttons on my mouse. After I uninstalled logitech's crap my mouse works perfect again in every game where it wasn't working. I think it is just their latest setpoint offering though because when I had the previous version installed my mouse was fine. Since my mouse works fine without any of their software I didn't bother installing the older version again.
