Couple of problems

Featured Replies

Hey Guys,I bought FS2Crew yesterday and I've been trying to get it running properly but I can't seem to.I click RUN PF at T+30 with ground power and air and the FO does his thing during the first few minutes.I was told that around T+24 he goes off for his walk around and comes back at aournd T+19, and during that time I can do the captains flows.Thing is I hear nothing at T+24 that indicates he goes for the walk around and comes back. I've also had a problem with talking to him, the green bar up the top shows the things I'm saying but the FO will ignore it.Any suggestions?

Hi Hendro,Check your FSX and computer audio/ speaker setup... the FO should speak: "I'm out for the Walkaround"... and "I'm back from the walkaround".You should also hear other sounds, like the FA's talking to you and the sound of the Jetway connecting. That should come through your main speakers.Green bar shows everything the speech recognition thinks it hears. You could cough and something may show up in the Green bar. However, many of the speech commands are condition based, so if the speech system somehow hears "gear up" while you're still on the ground, the FO won't attempt to raise the gear.

I'll check that out. Thanks for the quick reply.

Hey Bryan,I've checked those settings, fsx shows it's capturing voice and playing sound through my headsets. I can hear sounds and getting close to 0 I can clearly hear the FA do her announcement. But still no FO. And still no response from my Pre-Flight checklist call.

Also, in the installation manual check that you have properly configured your language and speaker setting, this sorts out a lot of bugs! Especcially important IF this is your first FS2Crew product

OK. I can hear the FO but it's very quiet. The NGX sound is muted and even then I have to turn my headset volume to max and the FS2Crew volume to max to hear the faintest talking.Weird thing is, is that when I'm doing the Pre-Flight checklist with the FO its very faint but then someone comes in screaming in my ear asking if we can board the passengers.

They're something funky/strange going on with your audio setup.Without being at your computer I can't trouble shoot your audio devices/hardware.Can you just restore your audio hardware to its default stock settings and triple check your audio setup. Also re-install your audio drivers. You want factory default for everything.Cheers,

hmmm. I'm using aviation headsets which plug into a small plastic box that has its own sound card which then plugs in to the computer via USB. I'll see what I can do.http://www.pcaviator.com.au/store/images/D/FSOUNDXssLarge6106.jpg

Yes it does. And it seems to work fine.

Just an idea as I don't know how the sound from FS2Crew is coded and simulated but I would check your Windows sound configoration to make sure that it is set on stereo and not 5.1 surround. It could be Windows is trying to set up surround sound and routing the FO through a channel you do not have a speaker connected to. The FA you can hear is probably coming through the other channel. If you imagine you are seated in a cockpit with speakers around you, the FO would come from the side and the FA would come from behind. If you had 5.1 speakers then that would simulate that. If you only have a pair of stereo headphones and Windows thinks they are connected to the rear channel then you would only hear the FA with slight noise from the FO.

I've plugged in my speakers and FSX works fine with them and so does the NGX. But FS2Crew even when I have it set to use the speakers still comes through the headsets.
