New Aerosoft Katana- Anyone Got It Yet?!

Featured Replies

From the images and description, this looks like it could set the new standard for GA small aircraft- and a much needed modern trainer to boot. I've been waiting for the release and can't wait to download tonight, anyone try it yet who can provide some initial impressions?Best,Joel

Yep. Very nice indeed. The VC is darned near 2D quality. Very good on Frames. Dave C

How does it fly? The visual model looks amazing!

I'm downloading it now...

Craig,I have no idea how a real Katana flies but this one flies great and the difference in handling from cruise speed to approach speed felt pretty realistic to me. Seems to have a good feel to her.If you like to fly VC you will absolutely love this aircraft. Took a couple hours up in it tonight and I don't even remember having to go to the 2D to operate anything. The only switch that I could not get to operate in the VC was the cabin heat switch... no big deal. Great visuals including a decent looking copilot.

Anyone else getting some "static" in the engine sound? I've got an Audigy 2 and get beautiful sound in all my other aircraft, but the engine sounds a little dirty in this plane for some reason? My sound quality is on "high" and performance at full acceleration.Best,Joel

Also any comparisons to SF260 Flight Dynamics would be appreciated.

See the screenshots here http://aerosoft-shop.com/product_info.php?products_id=40The interior shot shows a copilot modelled in the VC. She freaks me out! Can it be removed/is there a model without it? I'd get nightmares if I had to see that glass-like stare every time I looked to the right :-lol

Forgive my ignorance, but what is "VAT"? Purchasing has two prices, one with, and one without. I'm sure everybody else in the world know exactly to which this term applies, but I don't know what it is.Thanks and happy flying:RTH

VAT = Value Added TaxIn Europe and I think in the rest of the world too added to every price. In Europe it varies between 17%-20%

Yes, you can remove the "copliot". I agree that the human modelling does not benefit this plane- its much too hard to model people, I think it takes away from the interior rather than adding to it though I applaud the authors' effort. Unfortunately you can't remove the "pilot" and his hand on the stick.

say, have you noticed the affinity of certain model developers to co-pilots with a prominent front side bus? this ain't the first one...;)
