Cant load new 737 NGX liveries

Featured Replies

I was flying only with the PMDG house livery since I bought the 737NGX. But now I wanted to change to other liveries but I cant see any of those in FSX. I am following each step in the livery manager and installation of the livery seems to work. However in FSX I cant find any liveries, only PMDG. Any adivse? Thanks a lot!Nic

Make sure you check the Show all variants checkbox in FSX aircraft choice window.

Thanks Fabo. Yes I did but still nothing only the house livery. :Hypnotized:Nic

Also then make sure you always run Livery Manager "as Administrator" or the f*#@!%ing User Account Control will determine that by trying to install a livery you are in fact trying to render the poor computer unuseable and never actually install anything.

I hope you don't mind the obvious question, but have you dowloaded any livery to install? Either off the PMDG livery page or off AVSIM? If you did, you will need to extract the ptp file out of the zip file and then point the Livery Manager to the extracted file location when you go to load a new livery. I would suggest making a folder call 737NGX Liveries and extract each individual livery file there. That way you have a location to keep them all if you have to reload any of them.

Yes, I have downloaded and extracted the files all as described in the manual. Can it be related to the root FSX directory? In the livery manager I need to setup where the FSX root directory is. In my case D:FSX. Somehow it does not install the livery in the right folder. In which FSX folder should it be installed by the livery manager??Nic

I'm not at home, so I can't pull up Livery Manager to confirm the settings. I have FSX loaded on my "D" drive as opposed to the "C" drive where Windows resides. It's been my experience that FSX runs better when it's not on the operating system drive. Maybe some else who has access to their livery manager can answer your root question regarding locations. Good luck!

Here is a screenshot of my livery manager. Looks all quite fine, right? Still, in FSX I can't see any of the installed liveries, except PMDG.Nic

Well guys...I got it. It had to do with the root directory. So i fixed it. Thanks to all for your support.Nic

No need for the slash after the D:FSX
