April 2, 201214 yr Hey gang, Just a heads up - I applied the update a few minutes ago, took a look at my standard.xml file in the controls folder - it appears to have reset it to the default values it had originally. So if you have tweaked yours for sensitivity/null zones, you might want to make a backup copy first or at least be aware you may need to tweak again. Now someone mentioned in another thread it seems smoother, I have not flown as of yet so may want to check that out first before adding tweaks back in... EDIT: Fly it first before tweaking your XML file back!! I just did a quick test flight in the RV6 - which I found to be the most sensitive to my contoller inputs. HUGE difference - it is now much smoother with just the default settings in the standard.xml file. It would appear they have tweaked the joystick controller sensitivity to be much better! Don B
April 2, 201214 yr Yupp, Using the Saitek stuff I had to tweak a little bit before, but now it is ok without fiddeling. Just made a (sorry, its classified) flight between 10-50 ft in daytime witout ratteling with the yoke...... Gave me a lot of points...... Goran Arvnell
April 14, 201214 yr Author Hey Dewey, Well the update came out around the 2nd of this month as you can see from the OP. If you had Flight at that time, you should have got a prompt when launching it that the update was available to to choose to accept and install it. The update not only reset the standard.xml file, but made some internal changes - namely introducing a non linear response curve for the joystick axis', which made the controls much smoother and less sensitive - for most. Before this update I had tweaked my standard.xml file to get it as smooth as possible, after the update I found I did not need to do this tweaking. Now if you acquired Flight sometime after the update was pushed out on the 2nd, not sure how that worked - whether it would already be in the download of the program itself, or whether one is prompted to install it shortly after the install of Flight. You can easily tell if you have the update by the version number on your Flight screen, the updated version ends in the numbers 30023. Prior to the update, I believe it ended in 30016. I hope this helps, Don B
April 14, 201214 yr I just made the update about an hour ago. I was away from my PC and Flight for the last 10 days or so. I made the mandatory update, rebooted and now all my flight controls are zapped. I can't even fly with the mouse. I have the Saitek Cessna Yoke and Pedals and power quadrant. Standard keyboard and 2 button mouse with a scroll wheel. All aircraft dive to the right, nose down and crash. The popup box is constantly switching between Mouse Control and Joystick Control. I do not have a joystick connnected. Might be a problem here. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot? Ray When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .

April 16, 201214 yr Stll haven't got a response from MS support. You might consider registering on the Steam forum. I did so last weekend. I don't use the Steam version but there are MS-people on that forum actually answering questions, so... seems to be (or become) the official forum to get in actual contact with the devs!
