April 5, 201214 yr Hi gents, I tried something different yesterday with not so good results. I was alone at home so instead of having all the sounds going through my headset, I had all the simulator sounds except RC4 and FS2Crew in my speakers. I displayed the green bar to see what the computer was understanding and wow...nothing was working. My FO was executing the wrong commands and from what I understand, my computer was earing "off" at all times because of the cockpit background noise. How can this be avoided? Do I have to retrain voice recog with the background noise active? FS2crew works great when everything is going through my headset. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Chris Chris Verner Home cockpit builder ...well trying anyway
April 5, 201214 yr Commercial Member Hi Chris, If your mic is close to your speakers, the speech recognition system could very well "pick up" whatever is coming out of your speakers. That's why I recommend a headset (with a mic) as it keeps the mic away from your speakers and closer to your mouth. Cheers, B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
April 5, 201214 yr Author Hi Bryan, This is what I allready have. I have a HP high end headset. Do you have a suggestion? Thanks Chris Verner Home cockpit builder ...well trying anyway
April 5, 201214 yr Commercial Member In that case, try running the voice training again. Check your mic sensitivity levels as well. It sounds like it's picking "everything" up. Cheers, B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord

April 5, 201214 yr I have a Logitech G35 Headset and a TV on my left approx 1.5ft away and a Fan on my right running at full speed during the day and I must say, I rarely have any problems considering the amount of background noise going on around me .. The only time I get the FO saying "Are you sure about that ?" is when my darling wife is yelling extremities at me .. :LMAO: Adam James Thermaltake Armor + | Thermaltake Tough Power 1500WT PSU | i7 920 @ OC'd 3.8Ghz | GA-EX58 Extreme | Watercooled | 18GB DDR3 @ 1600 @ 9-9-9-28 | GTX580 SOC | OCZ 120GB Agility 3 SSD for FSX, | Windows7 x64Bit RTM | 4x AOC 22" LCDs @ 1680x1050 |
