Or you wait a few weeks until this happens (which is based on new OSM data):

(Ottawa and Toronto will be definitely covered ...)

Everlasting gratitude when it's released and we have a proper Ottawa river again

Sadly Ottawa itself won't be built out much more than it already is now, since not a lot of buildings outside the downtown core have been added to OSM. I added about 10 blocks of suburban houses near where I live, and I think they showed up in the SimHeaven OSM-only update, but I gave up--there's just too many houses, let alone other buildings and structures, for one person to draw in by hand.

By the way: OSM buildings are irrelevant for the Global Scenery or HD Mesh Scenery, as they both "only" include the autoge cities. OSM Buildings are only relevant for osm2xp based scenery, like what you can get from http://simheaven.com for example.

How does autogen decide which areas have buildings and which don't?

IIRC the business district of San Francisco was surprisingly devoid of almost any buildings, that was pretty surprising.

From landclass data of course ... (we are using quite a few different data sources).

In this quite old interview, I have written about it a few words:

I just wish X-plane had basic global airport scenery.

It is very odd arriving at an airport that is just an empty field.

Hi Andras,

Could you please provide an update on this?  I went to your website and downloaded what seems to be the latest HD mesh and Ottawa river is still missing a large chunk.  My home town airport CYRO is right on the water edge and it is still sitting on dry land at the moment!

Thanks in advance

P.S.  according to your site only Canada West is covered, was that the reason why?

There is still *NO* HD Mesh Scenery v2 ... and the scenery you find on my website now is still v1 based on very old (2 year old) OSM data. Thus, the river is still missing there (but it will definitively be in v2).

The release is a little bit postponed. Partly because there are still a few technical things which need to be implemented in the scenery tools (will maybe take a month) by Ben Supnik. Second, because over the coming weeks i will be away on some vacations (and I would definitely not want to release something while I am away).

So, at the moment I aim for a *"end of September"* release ...

Thanks for clarifying Andras looking forward to it, and many thanks for your great work.

By the way ... after this motivation I have spent some time (while still waiting for the last puzzle blocks fall in place for HD Mesh v2) and experimented with a massive landclass improvement for Canada. And after some experiments, it seems this will work ... and it will work very well. So, stay tuned for additional Canada update with HD Mesh v2!
