Buffalo DC-3 Alaska (External View)
All well tasty--can't understand how other Flight Simulators dare compare with X-Plane when they're not even at the starting gate!!

X-Aviation
Go back and try him again he's normally very responnsive.

Celestial Navigation
If seeing the stars and the moon through thick cloud coverage and mountains counts then X-Plane has an accurate night sky. Flying VFR Celestial navigation with 100% cloud coverage at 100feet with the Himalayas a mile ahead & directly infront of you causes absolutely no problems whatsoever :LMAO:

Alignment
Just getting into it but loving messing around with Liveries. Getting there gradually but one problem keeps causing me grief--Getting alignment on the aircraft segments on the Fusilage png. I'm talking about lining up the centres of the various parts of the fusilage so as to enable the drawing of Lines/Strips across the aircraft so they match exactly when X-Plane assembles the liveries. I get there eventually by continual trial and error but its hard work there must be a ready reference point somewhere--just where?? I got there quite quickly with the LES DC3 which was a nice aircraft to work on (Again trial & error reference with aligning the front and back halves) but because there is a left & right side one can do all the work on one side--duplicate it and rename it--Bingo!! Because she's large and has certain body parts which run the length of the entire plane one can use these as a guide & it helps However the little Carenado Bonanza v1 I've just started working on has a fusilage in Three segments --one extra pain--Help please. I use Corel Photo PaintX4 rather than Corel Paint shop ProX4 (although I have both) as the former has all the assets/capabilities of the later but PhotoPaintX4 is a far more complexed program entirely. Thanks

Just Picked up the X-Aviation DC-3
You have bent over backwards already Cameron & I know Jason has sent you a copy. I'm not trying to make an issue out of this--as you know Corvallis & Sequoia were involved in an issue on my installs before DC3 flew over the horizon--although this time it's been fps. I've sorted it by isolating Jasons and your three aircraft on two different installs and everythings running brilliantly--yours & his. I shall send you what you have requested via the usual channel. Thanks as usual for your response

Sorted--same problem I've been having for a very long time with anything running Gizmo. Removed C74's Cirrus RS22 from the install--not a single problem afterwards. This conflict works both ways however. Can work around it no problem--no choice really they're all great planes.

Well put her through her paces starting from zeroing the options and building up. At X-Planes lowest default settings she flies well at around 80--94fps--but naturally looks awful. I can step up everything to my standard full settings except for texture resolutions which I normally run at extreem--this my card will not tolerate with the DC-3 for some reason and the highest I can run this at is 'High' which gives me a reasonable definition but nothing like extreme which is pristine crisp. This runs at 30--45fps. @ KFHR---45-58fps @ KEDW Bump her up to just Very High and she starts becoming very erratic--extreem is an absolute 'No No'--Don't know what it is about this plane that makes her so thirsty for GPU juice? She never exceeds 16-18% usage on the x8 core CPU at 3950. With fps 34-47 she flies like an absolute dream & very smooth and stable--more so than the Marquis in fact--Cheers

You Guys are brill with your suggestions/advice as although I've been into design (Building AutoCad) I've never delved into anything like this. I am going to try and get into it along with the airports as a Guy called Chris who does some stunning scenery/airport work has given me some advice and help on that side. His work if you didn't already know:-- http://forums.x-pilot.com/index.php/topic/3069-yssy-sydney-airport-photo-scenery/ I've got a couple of installations of v9 fully loaded so I'll follow suggestions in that direction. It looks awful in v10 but looking at the Google planner it should be one tasty and interesting area to fly as in reality it is where the roads end--and life relies totally on Bushcraft. Cheers All appreciated. Should be able to get in close with this which is a great flight planner anyway:-- www.lnamanager.ch/flight-planner/index.php#

Just Picked up the X-Aviation DC-3
Hi Cameron. Everything is set right up high except HDR and Shadows which is 3D on Aircraft and it runs really brilliantly in the situations I fly (Generally Bush-Mountains/Desserts entire West coast N.Americas Alaska-Mexico) I get the usual fps drops around the infamous airports KSEA etc but rarely less than 15 and generally for just a few moments till it recovers. I generally fly (most aircraft) at 30-60fps. Res 1920x1080 However DC3 problem seems 'Host specific' it only occurs with that plane since I downloaded it and changing back to any other plane reverts to the standard fps for that particular plane. (They all vary somewhat but nothing as drastic as this.) I have a 'Clean' instalation of v10.05r1--that is to say it is just a pure install with no extras--I only use it to check things out in a clinical environment so to speak--then return it to it's clean state afterwards. I've just installed DC3 on it and will go through the process. Lets see --- Cheers.....

Just Picked up the X-Aviation DC-3
Just couldn't resist she's a lovely plane in all aspects 'BUT' for some reason she really eats into my fps & I am getting massive sudden drops--something that I have never experienced before? Carenado planes often 'Vampire' the juice a bit but nowhere near as harshly as this little beaute. To get her running 100% I'm having to cut well back on 'settings' (Which are always pretty high but without problems) & I don't have a lean machine . Anyone else found this Guys as maybe its specific to my machine or download ? Cheers

Canada
Ahhaaa --can see your point carrotroot. I've started flying with a few guys In the CYPL-CPV8-CNM5-CYRL area of Canada. They're flying FSX I think and although I have it I really dislike it. I was hoping with a bit of adjusting I would be able to fly the circuits in X-Plane but sadly X-Planes scenery does not add up at all--It's just miles of Trees, 'n' trees, 'n' trees whereas it should be wet and watery lakes 'n' Tundra (Theres no water where there shouldn't be land) Sorry about the confusion. Have a look at the Google Flightplan map--then at X-Planes offerings and you'll understand my disapointment. <http://www.lnamanager.ch/flight-planner/index.php#> If you or anyone knows where I could obtain scenery for this --What should be interesting area--please let me know....thanks (Just noticed where you're stationed--now try and imagine Florida without the Everglades!)

Canada
Just started flying with a few people in Canada--and just dicovered there no water where there shouldn't be land--no airports--nowt. Is there any scenery available for Canada CYRL--CYPL areas ---- purchase or freeware please? Cheers

Limiting trackir max movements
Can also be adjusted from within the trakir settings and very finely--although Sandy's is probably the easiest in particular for single central seat aircraft.

Ouch, that hurts, i can barely even get it to load..
Yes it's the Bulldozer and I'm very happy with her with X-Plane and basically in every aspect. I have taken her beyond the limits at times. I had a few Blue screen crashes with the Phenom x4 core (Not a lot) but never once with the Bulldozer.
