April 9, 201214 yr Looks like today is the 45th anniversary of the 737's first flight! The maiden flight of the 737 was on 9 April 1967, just two years after the project launch. Boeing's assistant director of flight operations, Brien Wygle (Left) was in command and Lew Wallick (Right) the chief test pilot was co-pilot. The uneventful two and a half hour flight from Boeing Field to Paine Field. Wygle said after landing: "I hate to quit, the airplane is a delight to fly." April 9, 201214 yr This one is not going anywhere soon. Cheers to the 737. I had the chance to work on the assembly line for the 737 landing gear back when I was in my mid-20's. Glad to have worked on a major component of this airliner Cheers Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me
