What is the problem using FSUIPC for NGX Throttle?

Featured Replies

No, I mean you should assign the axes like Jason's post, that's Ok. You shouldn't set the Callibration (under FSUIPC's callibration tab) for these axes. When you do, things start to go wrong.

Ok Ed I will try that using axis assignment only. Thanks for your insight and will let you know

Problem: Tutorial #1 Engines running (just program FMC etc) Throttle levers move and engine spools up OK Now tutorial #2 @EHAM cold and dark go through tutorial program FMC etc start engines(no problem) thrust levers advance but....no engine spool up can't move plane to taxi. That's my dilema!!! What am I doing wrong here??

Hi I just saw the topic and wanted to ask. I use saiteck pro flight yoke with throttle quadrant. I set 1 axis for throttle via FSUIPC (send direct to FSUIPC Calibration) and choose "Thorttle" from the drop down menu. On the Calibration page I set curves to 6, because originaly thru FS controls it's too sensitive and unrealistic. Now when I start flight i move up and down the axis but no response from PMDG. I must push it at 100%, the engines goes to 100% and then go back to idle. After that the response is back and can continue with flight.

Any suggestion why is that?

I have a Saitek 7 lever throttle quadrant...this is what I have done.

1. Delete the throttle axis assignment in FS.

2. Spend some time with the FSUIPC manual and get levers 1 and 2 calibrated to throttle engines 1 and 2...GND idle to FULL power.

3. Calibrate levers 3 & 4 to move idle to full reverse thrust and don't invert/reverse the signal...in other words, levers 3 & 4 stay in the full forward position calibrated to GND idle. When I pull back / retard levers 3 & 4, they incrementally reverse thrust from idle to full reverse. Levers 3 and 4 then mimick the motion of real world thurst reversers.

4. Calibrate the buttons as you wish...for me, I have the throttle buttons set to Xpndr mode C / OFF, AT arm, TOGA engage, Gear up/down, ENG 1 & 2 Fuel swithces.

The only time I have to use the keyboard is immediately after touchdown - I press F2 a couple time to get the engines to ground idle quickly. The engines take (IMHO) take too long to decelerate from flight to ground idle, 5 or 6 seconds in my testing - IRL Flight to GND idle is almost instant upon main gear touchdown. The reversers will not engage until ground idle is accomplished. The Boeing manual I believe says 2-5 seconds by the book, but this is not what the drivers are saying. No big deal for me.

System specs: Dual core E6300 (1.86g X 2), 2gb RAM, nvidea7800GT, Saitek yoke, CH throttle (6 lever), Soundblaster live.
Add-ons: FSX: LDS767, FSL Concorde, FT E175/195, PMDG 747X/737X, Active Sky E, some freeware airports.
Human specs: Desktop simulation since FS1, beta tester (LDS, FSL), 737NG simulator tech (Threshold Aviation), r sole+.

I tried setting up multiple levers for throttles, but even with no FSUIPC calibration I ran into problems with autothrottle disconnecting and overrides even though I chose to never override the AT in the CDU options.

I'm back to one throttle controlling all engines, which is fine since I never really used separate throttle control anyway.

The only thing set in FSX axis options is my throttle, the rest is done through FSUIPC.

I did calibrate everything through FSUIPC though, and it's much, much smoother then the default calibration offered through FSX options.
