Autopilot ILS approaches?

Featured Replies

For whatever reason I cannot get the autopilot to ILS loc. Maybe I am doing something wrong and need some help?

What I am doing is flying the approach using the GPS in NAV mode and ALT SEL at 1300ft and the click the APR switch on the auto pilot to capture glide slope. The annunciation control panel is on GPS AUTO should it be in OBS and VLOC either way its not working? The the NAV radio was set correctly but the plane wont capture glide slope or fly itself into DH. EFIS shows the glide slope but wont fly it and the artificial runway indicator on the EIFS shows only when in OBS mode.

I just did a sloppy approach to 09R at KPHL to test this, all I did was set the freq and heading, aimed remotely at general direction of the airport, app, auto pilot on, captured the glide slope and guided me down to nicely.
