April 12, 201214 yr Hi Guys didn't know where else to put this so please feel free to move it if there's a more relevant area, when I take off on land or water in this AC it climbs slowly which is ok, then the wings shake and it comes crashing to the ground! it's not a fsx issue it seems to be stalling I have flaps set at 7 can't work it out seems like I need more power would anyone have any advice please. April 12, 201214 yr Hi, Wayne. The RealAir amphibious Scout is a beautiful simulation... one of my desert island choices. You're stalling it. Rotation speed for the Scout is 52 knots with flaps up, and 46 knots with two notches of flaps. That's when you start pulling back on the stick, but it is not your desired climb speed. Best rate of climb, Vy, is 66 knots. That's where you should peg your airspeed after cleaning up the airplane. Best, Ken
April 12, 201214 yr Also check you weight. The default load includes two people and max baggage. Bob Prince
April 12, 201214 yr Don't know if it is relevant in your situation, but I found the Scout very sensitive to mixture...might be worth checking that and your prop condition so that you actually are getting max TO power... Cheers! Iain
April 12, 201214 yr Author Cheers guys I'll try that might be fully loaded which I didn't notice how do I unload the aircraft.Is there a config manager for it. Mmm http://fs2crew.com/banners/Banner_FS2Crew_MJC_Supporter.png Wayne HART
April 12, 201214 yr Just use the default menu in FSX... aircraft->fuel and payload | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

April 13, 201214 yr Loading isn't an issue. See the attached screen shot of a flight I made last night with the Scout amphibian loaded to 100 percent of capacity. After takeoff, the throttle and prop were reduced to climb power of 25 inches MP and 2500 RPM. The nose is pitched up at 12 degrees, resulting in a 66 knot climb at 400-500 fpm. Ken
