April 14, 201214 yr I decided to try FSX on a system that hasn't been used for a few months and the CH Flight Sim Yoke and Rudder Pedals are acting very strange. As I move the rudder pedals, the throttle is moving in and out and the yoke wheel in the virtual view is turning. The throttle keeps speeding up and down as it is advanced, and the yoke itself is unresponsive. I have tried recalibrating which shows things are normal, and restarted FSX. Settings on the Controls menu seem fine also. Nothing seems to help. Any ideas what could have caused this? The yoke and pedals work fine on another computer with FSX. Thanks, Tom
April 14, 201214 yr Have you tried unplugging any of the hardware and seeing if that changes anything? Not that you would want to fly that way, just to see if it makes a difference. Failing any other possibilities, what about reinstalling the drivers/software? Jonathan Monreal Visit A Flightsim Blog
April 14, 201214 yr http://forum.avsim.net/topic/367558-problems-with-cessna-pro-flight-yoke-x-axis/ Your answer might be here. As for me a system restore works if you had them working before. CPU: Intel i9-11900K @5.2 / RAM: 64GB DDR4 3200 / GPU: 4080 16GB /
April 14, 201214 yr Author Thanks for the help, guys. Yes, I tried to reinsert the USBs for the controllers several times and got the familiar beeps. Josh, I also tried your link above but it just says "404 not found" and takes me out of avsim completely. Tom
April 14, 201214 yr Problems with Cessna Pro Flight Yoke - X Axis Started by cnault2, Mar 26 2012 08:02 PM Above is where it is just do a search. You also can try this. First startup fsx and unassign your controller settings for the controller you are having trouble with. Then shut down FSX. Now unplug your controller and start FSX. Now close FSX down and reboot your system. Startup fsx and then close it. Now plugin your controller and start FSX and re assign the axis for that controller. April 15, 201214 yr Author Thanks again, guys. I did a search for the above and still keep getting "404 Not Found". Josh, I also followed your steps above and still no luck. By unassigning controller settings do you mean unchecking the Enable Joystick box? That is what I did. I hate to think I would have to reinstall FSX cause i'm sure it could happen again. Thanks, Tom

Thanks, Tom No you must un assign them in the axis and button menus. Make sure your only un assigning the device that is in the contriller type window at he top. What we are trying to do is to leave no trase of the controler in question. Then follow the steps that I gave you earlyer. CPU: Intel i9-11900K @5.2 / RAM: 64GB DDR4 3200 / GPU: 4080 16GB /
April 15, 201214 yr Look on the web for a freebee ultility 'USBDeview' you will be able to see all your usb devices. (you may be able to sort out unwanted assignments) down load the latest version of ch products 'Control manager'. install following the instructions.(ie controllers pluged in, except mfd's) go through the windows install proceedure and except each device in turn, windows will correctley assign the controlers in the windows os. when installed open up ch control manager and calibraite your yoke along with your pedals if you have them. MFD are done separetley you need to read up on them. the only question that arises is the contradiction on ch web site, as they say download the control manger for your OS, there was a a drop down menu to do this but this appears not to be there now so I assume the 4.52 ver is for all? maybe some could advise us on that. on xp os in ' game controllers' the calibration section is highlighted with a ch products note telling you to callibrate within the ch products control manager. so thats the only way. bob ps for w7 users get the correct ver of usbdview and read the readme file.
April 15, 201214 yr I have found it not do be a driver issue. It is what is written in the standard XML file that is the culprit. That is the reason for un assigning and then closing down FSX. Unplug controller restart fsx then exit. Plug in the controller and then re assign making sure nothing else is assign to the same axis. April 15, 201214 yr I have found it not do be a driver issue I agree because the ch control manager does not actually install any new drivers but uses the standard windows drivers, what I understand it takes over control from windows in assigning the usb and creating the HID devices for each contoller( there is a long technical explanation in the users guide) bob .

April 18, 201214 yr Author That was it, Josh. I never changed anything in the controler settings page but somehow I had the x, y, and z axes in both the Yoke and Pedals settings. Now the controls are working fine, but when I release the toebrakes, the brake box stays lit to the lower left of the screen. When I put on the parking brake and release it, the brake box goes away. But as soon as I apply the toebrakes again it stays on when the pedals are released. I did a search and some suggestions were to put null zones to zero, sensitivity to 50%, and check the reverse boxes. None worked. Any ideas on this one? Thanks again for solving the other problem. Tom
