April 21, 200422 yr It works OK with default FS2004 aircraft but ruins the realism of aircraft like the SF260 and Decathlon which have a more realistic airfile. Its nice if u want to feel bumps on the tarmac but other than that its not that good in my opinion.Adam JAR PPL(A)IFR/NR

April 21, 200422 yr SpilokI am a great fan of Active Camera and was keen to try FS Force to further enhance the FS experience but I found that that FS Force didn't get on well with Active Camera.....did you have any problems and if so, how did u overcome them?
April 21, 200422 yr Just my $0.02I would hardly call it cheap at half the price I paid for FS2004, that's actually more than any other add-on (planes, scenery, weather, flight planners) that I have bought for any FS version. That money usually buys you a complete, complex, realistic plane, like the PSS Buses or some really great scenery, so that price seems exceedingly steep for such a relatively minuscule utility.Granted, it does its job and it would be a nice little addon at about USD 10-15, but to me it's not worth anywhere near the USD 35 (at the current CAD exchange rate)that the developer wants for it.Best RegardsMax (Bern, LSZB)http://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004betateam.jpg http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/800driver.jpg
April 21, 200422 yr >Just my $0.02>>I would hardly call it cheap at half the price I paid for>FS2004.I am normally pretty forgiving in terms of pricing for FS2004 add-ons, but I would agree with this.I just purchased one of the megascenery packages, and for $35 I got high-resolution scenery, 2 CD's, a nice printed manual, a big thick book of approach charts an airport diagrams, and full-size sectionals.I tried out FSForce, and I really liked it, but I would consider the price to be out of line. And, yes, I realize that I would use it "every time I fly", but most other utilities of a similiar scope (i.e. activecamera) are priced much more reasonably. There doesn't seem to be a huge level of ongoing support for FSForce either (i.e. updates are relatively slow in coming).I think if the author of the program had priced it a bit more reasonably, he probably would easily make up the difference in additional registrations. I sure as heck would buy it.But, in the end, it is up to the vendor to decide their price, and it is up to us to decide if it is a value or not. Everyone will have a different opinion on an appropriate price for any particular add-on.
April 21, 200422 yr Those of us with Saitek Rumble Sticks have no need for add ons in order to feel forces! :-lol :-)
April 21, 200422 yr >Those of us with Saitek Rumble Sticks have no need for add>ons in order to feel forces! :-lol :-) But if the force you feel is false, don't you feel FS Force has a function? :)Allcott
April 22, 200422 yr Have you actually tried it? Even when using the SF.260 with the default force feedback (which it implements through FS2004), you still have very poor roll response and you don't get brake rumbling, landing gear enhanced rumbling etc.In real life you obviosly don't feel forces such as cornering through the stick, but you still feel cornering by the "seat of your pants". Even though this may not be *exactly* as it is in real life through FS Force, you still get the sensation through your hand and you subconciously "feel" the cornering. It's actually quite amazing when you experience taking off in a fighter jet and you need to make small adjustments to your heading while doing the runup along the runway! It's not for everyone, but if you like a massively improved force feedback experience than what you get with the default, I'd definitely recommend it.I use is on every plane and love the enhanced realism it gives my SF.260, especially when doing fast aerobatic maneuvers and feeling the aileron forces immediately take effect, unlike with the default. The rumbling sensation of the increased landing gear drag when on approach is also something you need to experience for improved immersion. And for the record, I'm not getting paid to write this.James
April 22, 200422 yr Hi all,In the end, I'm trying it!First impression: I feel something different of course ... not sure now if this is better than default or not - have to make some experience, configure each plane (how? - I'm not a real pilot!)SF260, Aerosoft katana are the planes i most often fly - If I assign to each of them a light aircraft profile, the forces will be identical, OK? But I don't know how to change them for each aircraft.Overall, the joystick movements and forces seem to be less strong, and the trim smootherGoing to fly now :-wave
April 22, 200422 yr There is a specific profile for the Aerosoft Katana in the FS Force forums, and the SF260 can be used with medium GA. Dont know if anyone has done a special profile just for that, but you could ask in the forum.FWIW, I don't have ANY aircraft loaded with Light GA, except for a ultralight or two.Allcott
