Installing 32bit airports into 64

Featured Replies

Apologies to the colour blind folks. The FAQ just says that, if you've purchased the scenery within the last 4 years, you can log in to BMT and download a 64bit installer, no email needed. Did you try that, Marc?

No, I have benn emailing them with their requested information and they have not responded at all in 2 weeks. As far as their FAQ I have read all that. I thought that this "installer" I downloaded said it needed the airport installed first. It could not find it. This is ridiculouse of course so I will comb through again this morning and try and figure this out.

This is really a 2 prong issue, the main being the total lack of communication from Blueprint.

I don't see anywhere in the FAQ where it says no email needed. It says I have to email them with my order number from the flight sim store and order date, which I have, numerous times now, in the last 2 weeks. If you go to their download pages and download any of the upgrades, these are not doing me any good because I do not have the software installed to begin with. These are upgrades to existing installed airports. You cant install an upgrade into something that does not exist on your hard drive. I think I covered all the stupid mistakes I could have made but you never know. Maybe they are just laughing at me over there at Blueprint. "Hey look, here comes another one!". Laughing all the way to the bank I guess.

A few posts up, I've highlighted the phrase about the easier method from their FAQ. I don't know if that applies to your case of course. They speak about the BMT processed purchases. Flight Sim Store in your case? Maybe they have some other contact option as they must communicate on the business to business level with BP. Perhaps you can drop them a ticket explaining the case, so they can forward it.

I couldn't tell if their mail system is wonky or if they intentionally don't reply. Can you? I don't think those sentiments help any side involved. I do understand that a not working installer isn't that funny though, but lets keep the tone fair.

Yea its pretty unfair, I have sent 2 tickets and 2 emails acording to their instructions so my tone may be a little crass. They are on my list now after all.

Thank you for trying to help. I need to find someone with 32bit windows.

I think if 'someone' handles your purchases, other problems may arise. You could try a virtual machine when you want to try those 32bit installers to do anything. Some Windows version support this for free or some freeware helps.

how did you do that?

Hi Marc. Sorry to read about all your Support issues. Hope it gets resolved.

However, all I did was run the setup.exe for version 1.1.2 and it installed without any bother.

I apreaciate the help on this gentelmen, Maybe their is some software out there that can help with this.

Got it resolved after finally finding someone with 32bit windows. Still no reply from them after 5 requests using 2 different emails. Amazing.

I was expecting sub par airport rendering here due to the low cost involved but I at least expected a kiss on the cheek and a tuck into bed from them. I have found that to read a company's terms and conditions first to determine their attitude and disposition is a good idea. For the last 3 companies including Blueprint I have noticed a direct correlation between the tone of their terms and conditions and their support or lack thereof as well as the old "Sure was not what I thought I was buying" phenomena. You sort of get a holier than thou feeling from it you know.
