April 20, 201214 yr The update path from the Base 800/900 series to the latest SP-C is very hard to figure out as I just helped out a friend who only had the Base 800/900 package, but wanted to add the 600/700 to his installation and bring both packages up to the latest version, which is SP1-C. There are two issues I have with the PMDG website, SP1 for the base 800/900 is on the product page, and SP1-B and SP1C are on the download page. However, there is a SP1 for an earlier version of the 737 you developed a number of years ago, that has a SP1.....and unfortunately, my friend got confused and downloaded that particular SP1. You could really improve your website by segregating these packages so there is no confusion as to which service pack goes with each plane. And you need to put the 737 NGX original SP1 on the download page. Here is a copy of the email I sent my friend……it is confusing…..and I hope I haven’t misled my friend!!!! Bill Clark ----------------------------------------------------------------------- To the best of my knowledge, here is the order of patches: In looking at my download files, here is what I found: For the 800/900: 1. Base Version – v1.00.2888 2. SP1 – v1.00.3057 (this brings the 800/900 series up to the same version level of the Base 600/700 version) 3. SP1-B – v1.00.3118 4. SP1-C – v1.00.3219 For the 600/700: 1. Base Version – v1.00.3057 2. SP1-B – v100.3116 (a little different version number than the 800/900 series) 3. SP1-C – v100.3219 4. Note, there is no SP1 for the 600/700 IMPORTANT - As I recall, you have to install the Base 800/900 package first. Then you have to install the SP1 update to the 800/900 series, prior to installing the base 600/700 series. The after that, you can install the individual SP1-B and SP1-C for the 600/700 and 800/900 series SP1 – for only the 800/900 Note – This is located on the 737 NGX product page, and go to the second “Click Here” link to get SP1 This package contains ONLY the 737-800/900 winglet/non-winglet models including the Virtual Cockpit, Boeing Manuals, PMDG NGX Tutorial and the PMDG livery manager. The 737-600/700 models are an expansion to the base package and is now available for purchase, click here. Service Pack 1 Now Available PMDG has released Service Pack 1 for existing owners of the PMDG 737 -800/900 NGX Base Package that updates the -800/900 base package and enables it to run the -600/700 expansion pack. SP1-B – for both 600/700 and 800/900 These links are located on the Downloads page. 737 -800/900 NGX Base Package SP1b NEW Update for the 737 -800/900 NGX Base Package SP1b (FSX) Click Here to Download Download Size - 138MB 737 -600/700 NGX Expansion Package SP1b NEW Update for the 737 -600/700 NGX Expansion Package SP1b (FSX) Click Here to Download Download Size - 43.1MB SP1-C - for both the 600/700 and 800/900: Scroll down the page to find the download links. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/364643-04mar12-sp1c-released-for-full-ngx-product-range/ Let me know if these embedded links work, otherwise you will have to go to then PMDG website. April 20, 201214 yr There's no need to install previous patches. All PMDG updates are cumulative, and all he needs to do is install SP1c. Assuming he already has the 800/900 installed, he just needs to install SP1c for the 800/900, then install the base 600/700 package, then install SP1c for the 600/700. So it's: 1) Install base 800/900 (If not already installed) 2) Install SP1c for 800/900 3) Install base 600/700 4) Install SP1c for 600/700 EDIT: I also forgot to add, SP1-C is not even on your download page.....it is available as a "Pinned" topic on the forum. It's not on the download page because PMDG have been having problems with their website.

April 20, 201214 yr Author Chaos81, Thanks for your response However, if it is really that simple, then why is SP1-B and the original SP1 updates still posted on the web pages as a choice, or why isn't there text explaining the easiest path to the latest version? Also, a user shouldn't have to search through the forum to find out how to perform this task of updating their installation (unless, of course, it is a very recent update). The PMDG website has been this way for months as I recall, and unless you follow all the daily postings on the forum, there is no way to figure stuff this out on your own.
