Problem with fuel gauges

Featured Replies

Hallo

I have poblems with the fuel gauges of C90. When i started a flight all tanks are 100%. Before take off the right tank had 100% the left tank 96%. The consumption is not similar. During the flight the fuel consumption is only from the left tank the right is always 100%.

And now a funny thing. When i load the C340 from Cerenado and activate the fuel switch to right tank, finish the flight C340 and load the C90 again and the right tank is addressed and the consumption is similar. Is here an overlap of both config files of the fuel system of C340 and C90 ?

I hope you can help me

I think this is covered quite well in the C90 A-B Info Manual that was linked in another post a few days ago.............that says each engine uses it own fuel from the wing, however, on a loss of p;ressure or pump failure, it will crossfeed.........(think I have this right??)..........have not checked to see if this actually works on the Caranado C90, but will try it out...........B42L8

I have the same problem... and playing with the trans system will not pump fuel into the lower tank to level it out... Along with other issues (my heading bug doesn't work), I think i have a theory....

I loaded a plane that I have parked and dark at my hanger/base airport... then switched to the new C90 and saved it. This is typical of what I do with new planes so that i can get cold and dark without allot of work moving the plane to the hanger, and shutting it all down. i think there might be some compatibility problems using this trick, as the same thing happened with my Mustang when I first got it.

Not sure if you did the same, but if you did... this might be the problem. I did a re-install last night, and will start from scratch with a new flight and see if that fixes it.

On a side note... i wish all the publishers would allow cold and dark options (EagleSoft, RealAir do for example)... I enjoy start up.

I enjoy start up also and I can't tell you the last time I ever used CTRL-E.. I also wish all planes had a default "cold and dark" option to start from a clean slate and nothing is retained from the previous aircrafts condition.

UPDATE: indeed, my hunch was correct. Starting a new flight solved the fuel issue. Now that I have some seat time... I was able to set up at my hanger/base and saved a fresh plane cold and dark.

STYCKX: True! I've noticed on complex planes, CTRL E sometimes missed some systems. CTRL E is my last resort these days..LOL.

I just got this plane last night and this problem is proving quite frustrating to resolve. I used Yoda's tutorial and still have the problem. I tried loading different FSX planes first (C172 and Beech Baron), saved them cold and dark, loaded the C90, followed the procedures for start-up, and the problem remains. At idle, right tank remains at 1,286lbs and the left tank starts falling and this condition continues in flight.

It looks like it would be a fun plane to fly but without solving this issue, its more frustrating than anything else. This problem is worse than the FMS and FADEC issues I had with the Eaglesoft Citation X :P . A refund from Flight1 may be on the cards if I can'tfind a solution this soon.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

I think I found a solution that works though it is a little Rube Goldberg like in its execution:

1. Loaded my RealAir Turbine Duke

2. Started Turbine Duke

3. Loaded C90B

4. Made sure everything run's

5. Shut down engines, avionics, fuel pumps, etc.

6. Saved flight

Now when I load that flight, fuel from both tanks is used. Problem is, the plane isn't as cold and dark as I'd like as the auto-ignition, EFIS, and Avidyne all remain on even though they were saved with all being off.
