April 27, 201214 yr hi everyone i notice something on the aircraft . That when i was on a 3 hour flight winds was at 322 MAG @ 83KTS i had the autopilot set as a normal flight LNAV CMM A etc..... An the aircraft perform a bank angle turn am thinking is do to the wind. But doesn't the autopilot keep the plane level better than a human would? I mean in real life they say that an autopilot can keep the plane stable during turbulance faster an better than a human would . An turbulance have to deal with winds on all kind of stuff . So am wondering why the auotpilot doesn't do so in 737NGX Mr Leny CPU I7 8700K @ 5.0GHz , MOBO -Asus Maximus X Hero (WiFi AC),GPU - GTX1080 TI , RAM - CORSAIR Vengeance RGB 16GB DDR4 3600MHz SSD -Crucial MX500 1TB (P3D Install Only)OS- Samsung 960 EVO 500GB (Window 10 Pro 64)
April 27, 201214 yr Sounds like your experiencing whats called S-Turns due to the wind.... i may be wrong what weather engine u using m8 ...
April 27, 201214 yr I think the problem is not the wind itself but the sudden and massive shift in wind direction that you get in FSX. This phenomenon can be fixed with FSUIPC, Activesky or REX....although I think FSUIPC is the best solution to the problem. Once the plane is literally blown off course the problem occurs when the FMC tries to get back on course and may go back to a previously passed waypoint. Mark CYYZ
April 27, 201214 yr Author Hey Steve Inwood am using Rex 2.0 thanks. An everytime rex is updating the weather or something strong winds just click in out of no where . I have to jump quick back on the control to try to control the aircraft. It even went to excess amount of G- Force like + 2.06 0.06 Hi MarkW where can i get FSUIPC i have rex all ready an i think rex is causing the problem . Everytime its updating the weather i get this wind shift out of no where . April 27, 201214 yr Active Sky 2012 has completely eliminated this general problem for me. No savage wind shifts, yet normal winds and wind shifts at altitude. You activate direct AS2012 direct control, and turn all FSUIPC weather processing off, this is discussed in the notes. The trick is that is sets all neighboring weather sites to the same weather, and changes them all, but only gradually, as you fly along. April 27, 201214 yr Author hi i have look in my fsx an it appears i have FSUIPC install already. My question now is do tje weather setting off in FSUIPC when am running rex ? Because rex have its own weather engine i don't know if rex uses FSUIPC for its weather engine. So do i turn FSUIPC weather setting off while am running rex or do i leave it as it is ? April 28, 201214 yr If you have fsuipc enable wind smoothing and set it to 1 or 2 degrees per second, same with speed. That way it takes a little while for the change to occur & your plane won't be hit with a 160kt wind shear. (definitely not realistic!) April 28, 201214 yr The people at REX are saying their update will fix all the wind stuff.....so that is what I am hoping on. FSUIPC really helps a lot. It is the wind. There is no "real" way around it without a paid version of FSUIPC or ActiveSky 2012 I think at the moment. I have all but stopped using REX above FL200 because of this.
